"I love the Courtyard Marriott in downtown Amarillo, Texas. The parking garage is right next to the hotel and allows entrance to the elevators without going by the front desk. "It was a real feel of Texas. The rooms were old but updated. Plenty of lighting. One thing I have noticed on our trip on Route 66, the older hotels have good lighting - overhead and otherwise."

"Comfortable beds, I slept deeply! Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Tip: Property does not have an elevator, so if a flight of stairs might pose a challenge for you, ie. Luggage, physical limitations, etc, I recommend you ask for a ground floor room in advance."
