Pretty as many of the Lakelands pictures, this traditional stone built cottage nestles in a quiet backwater just minutes walk from the village centre. With views to the surrounding fells and with a blend of modern fittings and traditional style, the cottage provides a cosy and comfortable retreat. The River Rothay meanders close by and there is direct access to the fells and lakes from the doorstep, with walks and days out to suit all ages and abilities.
Please note: There are open, steep, spiral or narrow stairs at the property.

This was a lovely cottage and in an incredible and peaceful location. It’s a bit “vintage”, but in a really sweet way. Do note that there’s no internet, and that the stairs to the master bedroom are steep. And, as others have said, the mattress is a bit hard. But, I would *definitely* book again. Only problems were mattress too hard & duvet too thin. Stairs up to top floor very steep and no toilet up there. Apart from that everything excellent. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

The house was accurately described on the website. It was comfortable and had a good size kitchen/diner and a cosy lounge. It is in a great location in the centre of Grasmere but still pretty quiet. Be aware that there is no Wi-fi but there is a reasonable 4G signal.
