The hotel is nice, clean and strategic. You could walk to St Michel for 1 hour. The owner is ver friendly and helpful. For those who come in after 8pm,make sure you call thm so they an leave you a key in the" mail boxes" in fron of the entrance/restaurant

Not recommended to stay

I reserved a riverfront room (and paid extra for it) but was not given one. The sheets were dirty, with sticky stains on them. The bathroom was very small and also smelled strongly of sewage. It was not worthy for what we paid for. Not recommended.

The property is just inside the historical area of Amboise, so a good location to see the area. The decor is tacky for being recently renovated, but you are only there for a few nights. The bed was hard as a rock and there is much noise transference between rooms (soundproofed rooms they are not). Some of our concern was the lack of free parking offered by the hotel as they advertised “free onsite parking”. To them this meant free street parking after 1830 hours or in a public parking lot a 5 minute walk away (the hotel parking lot is about the same distance and they insist on charging 10 euros / night). Also there was issue with inconsistency between staff answers to questions. Although one could claim it was the language barrier, that was definitely not the issue. Again an issue with their advertisement via Expedia which clearly states laundry is available. When we enquired we were directed to a laundromat about an 8 minute drive away. A few days later when we mentioned we were not happy about the inaccurate information in the Expedia ad we were told there is laundry at their other location down the street and the colleague just did not know that and in regard to the parking discrepancy we were told we needed to contact Expedia as it was an issue with them. One would think that the business would be the one to ensure information was accurate and not the client.

My daughter and I stayed here for two nights. The staff was so incredible. They were making some construction updates to the hotel while we stayed and as a result we had some issues with our room and the gentleman at the front desk was so incredibly helpful. And they gave us so much great advice about where to park and what to do nearby. The room was small but matched the listed description, so it was exactly upon our expectations. Would stay here again.

odeur très désagréable dans la salle de bain qui a été signalée dès le premier jour .Rien n'a été fait . Un déodorant aurait peut-être amélioré la situation. L'écoulement du lavabo se faisant mal, le problème vient peut-être de là.

expérience décevante

Nous avons été très déçus, mais c'est un hôtel deux étoiles... Les chambres sont très petites, certaines sans fenêtres, avec seulement un petit velux ou une petite fenêtre. J'ai pu changer de chambre et visiter les autres, qui étaient similaires. Le parking, bien que sécurisé, est payant et se trouve à environ 200 mètres de l'hôtel, ce qui n'est pas très pratique. Cependant, l'hôtel est bien situé, à proximité du centre touristique.

Attention

Trace de moisissure dans les douche, trace dans lunette des wc. Porte à galandage écartée de 8 à 10 cm de la paroi donc parfait pour la non discrétion. Location de chambre sans respecter les clients Pas d'annonce sur les PB Ex TV débranchée car en panne depuis des jours; Débit de l'eau dans les douches chaude mais plus que réduite. Aucun responsable que de très jeunes personnes (certainement des étudiants se trouvant très embarrassés à mous répondre) par contre demande de contrôle de la CB par 3 courriels +2 appels téléphoniques 2 jours avant le séjour + demande verbale à notre arrivée et demande de paiement immédiat du séjour avant de voir la chambre. Donc contrôle des clients mais pas des installations proposées (on se moque des réactions des clients) on fait simplement de chiffre.
