Comfortable studio right across the river from a charming renaissance era village

The studio and Amboise were a great hub for exploring chateaus and wineries in the Loire valley. Situated across the river from town, a step outside the studio offers stunning views--especially at night. Our gracious hosts were there to warmly welcome us and provide insights on local attractions. A butcher and bakery are conveniently located across the street and are well worth a visit. The Tabac down the street serves cappuccinos, so breakfast was complete. We don’t speak any French aside from the obligatory pleasantries but managed quite well nonetheless. Everyone we encountered in town was particularly friendly and patiently worked with us. (Our entire stay in France was like this but Amboise was the best!) Amboise is a short walk across a bridge and has its own château and charming renaissance era downtown with walking streets, bakeries, chocolatiers, restaurants and shops. My wife found some nice scarves here at a good price that weren't to be found in Paris, for instance. We visited Chambord, Clos Luce (DaVinci's last home) and Chenonceau. All are worth a visit but we enjoyed the charm and warmth of the latter two the most. The studio was cozy but clean and well stocked with all of the essentials for cooking. It's an odd thing to mention, but the shower had a fantastic flow reminiscent of pre-flow restrictor days. We also had the use of the beautiful patio where we unwound at the end of the day. The only hiccup was finding a place to park upon arrival. If you have the pleasure of staying here, do inquire in advance about how to reach the parking area behind the building. Note that we also considered Blois for our Loire valley visit but after visiting it we were glad we chose Amboise instead. It was far less commercial and thus more relaxing and romantic. If you choose to stay in Amboise you couldn't find a better combination of a great location and gracious hosts who will greet you like family. Our stay here capped off an unforgettable visit to France.

Ein wunderbarer Urlaub in Amboise

Ein herzlicher Empfang durch die überaus charmante Soizick Yver bei unserer Ankunft. Das Studio ist klein, worauf uns die Vermieterin bereits bei Buchung aufmerksam gemacht hatte, es ist aber alles vorhanden, um sich auch eine Woche wohl zu fühlen. Dazu die zentrale, aber völlig ruhige Lage des Studios. Direkt an der Loire, alle Sehenswürdigkeiten von Amboise, alle nötigen Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sowie gute Restaurants sind fußläufig zu erreichen. Dazu ist Amboise wegen seiner zentralen Lage ein idealer Ausgangspunkt, um die Tourraine zu entdecken. Dies geht selbst mit der Eisenbahn, da der Bahnhof von Amnesie in wenigen Minuten zu Fuß zu erreichen ist. Wer ein kleines bisschen von diesem wunderbaren Frankreich entdecken möchte, ist bei Soizick Yver bestens aufgehoben!

"Hemos estado en este Studio 5 días,del 7 al 12 de septiembre de 2.013.El mismo es perfecto para dos personas, por su ubicación a la ribera del Loire, frente al Castillo de Amboise ,locación ideal para visitar las joyas históricas y arquitectónicas de la región. Es muy colorido, y alegre ,dotado de todos los elementos que necesita el visitante.Un lugar magnífico. Pero la maravilla suprema son los propietarios : Mme.Soizick y Bernard ,una pareja que es un dechado de hospitalidad, inteligencia, humor,cortesía y cultura. Fue fue un privilegio conocerlos en nuestro viaje a Amboise y nunca les agradeceremos suficientemente por sus delicadezas .Vivamente recomendamos este Studio que ha sido quizá el mejor que hemos conocido a través de Homelidays. Wir sind jetzt noch ganz angetan ,von dem Super Urlaub an der Loire in Amboise! Vor allem möchten Hanna, Bonnie & ich mich für die herzlichen Aufnahme bei der Familie Soizick bedanken. Es war als wenn wir Familienanschluss hatten. Das kleine Studio hat Charm & hat alles was man braucht. Der Blick vom Garten auf das Schloss Amboise & der Loire , ein Traum. Wir werden noch oft an Madame Yver & Ihren Mann zurück denken. Wenn Gott es will ,kommen wir noch mal wieder ,wenn wir Dürfen!! Es war Spitze!! PS: Wir sind gerade erst wieder gekommen ,deshalb kann ich jetzt es LOBEN! Grüsse an die Super Ferienfamilie!! Grazie

Très bel emplacement du gîte

Le gîte est situé face au château d'Amboise et donne sur un ancien chemin de halage. Plusieurs commerces sont situés à 3mn à pied, dont un boulanger, un boucher, un buraliste et une pharmacie. Le centre d'Amboise est à 10mn à pied et une ballade en bord de Loire est possible dès la sortie du gîte. S'il fait suffisamment beau, on peut même profiter de la terrasse face au château. Quand aux propriétaires, je les qualifierais d'extraordinaires. L'unique petit bémol concerne la literie dans laquelle on dort très bien, mais qui peut être un peu courte pour les plus + de 185 cm (c'est ma taille et c'était limite). Mais on peut toujours y remédier.

Wonderful studio, perfect location, adorable host

We had a fantastic holiday in Amboise. We were greeted by our colourful and friendly host, who was extremely kind and helpful. Our quirky studio overlooked the Loire and we had a beautiful view of the chateau. It was comfortable and well equipped, with a lovely courtyard so we could eat outside. We were even given a bottle of wine to welcome us. We started with a Segway tour around Amboise which was really good fun and surprisingly easy. A great way to see the sights. We also took a Canadian canoe down the Cher to Chenonceuaux - stunning scenery. The restaurants were very good and the general ambiance was relaxing. I am sure we will come again.

Quatre jours merveilleux en amoureux

Merci Soizick pour votre accueil si chaleureux ! Nous nous sommes installés dans un petit nid douillet en bordure de Loire. De quoi ravir les pupilles ! Nous avons marché dans les pas des rois de France et dans ceux de Léonard de Vinci. Nous avons dégusté le chenin blanc de Mont Louis et de Vouvray. De quoi réjouir les papilles ! A conjuguer au plus-que-parfait...

Désireux de découvrir les châteaux de la Loire, nous nous sommes rendus à Amboise une semaine afin d'avoir un endroit où se reposer après les visites et les nombreuses marches montées. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié le studio qui est non seulement très pratique et propre (électroménager, lit, table et cour extérieure très agréable avec en prime une belle vue sur le château d'Amboise) mais aussi très bien situé : qu'il est agréable de pouvoir se rendre au centre ville à pied sans se préoccuper du stationnement de la voiture ! De plus, on y retrouve de la documentation et de nombreuses informations sur la région, ce qui est très pratique. Mais surtout, Soizick est une personne absolument adorable qui n'hésite pas à vous parler de la ville, de la région, et de bien d'autres choses ! Nous avons beaucoup apprécié sa gentillesse, son écoute et sa disponibilité. C'est grâce à vous, Soizick, que notre séjour a été plus que parfait, merci pour tous vos conseils et pour nos échanges ! Lorsque nous parlons des châteaux à présent, nous pensons immédiatement à vous...

Mieux qu'un séjour, une belle rencontre !

Non seulement les studios de Soizick sont merveilleusement situés juste face au château d'Amboise, non seulement ils sont très bien équipés, d'une propreté irréprochable, non seulement les lits sont très confortables, non seulement les studios sont décorés avec soin et dans les moindres détails, non seulement on y dispose de nombreux rangements et de renseignements et documentation sur la ville et sur la région, MAIS SURTOUT, SURTOUT... on y rencontré Soizick, la propriétaire des lieux, l'âme de la maison. Soizick qui sait si bien se faire discrète quand il le faut et proposer ses services quand elle sent que ses hôtes en ont besoin. Soizick, chez qui on vient depuis le bout du monde et surtout chez qui on revient ! Soizick, merci d'être toi, merci d'avoir trouvé ta merveilleuse maison sur la Loire, merci de l'ouvrir à d'autres, merci de nous avoir permis d'être tes hôtes. Nous avons passé des moments délicieux chez toi, nous espérons revenir te voir, en plus il y a tant de choses à faire autour de chez toi. Les prochains hôtes chez qui nous allons en septembre n'ont plus qu'à bien se tenir !!!

Ein schöner Urlaub bei Fam. Yver

Wir waren das 4. mal in der Touraine, um 3 befreundete Familien zu besuchen und auch wieder die Gegend zu erkunden. Vielen Dank Frau Yver, für Ihre herzliche Gastfreundschaft und Ihr Bemühen um das Wohl Ihrer Gäste.Ihr Studio kam unseren Bedürfnissen entgegen und liegt wunderschön direkt an der Loire. Wir wohnten zentral und doch ruhig. Schon der Eingang in den Vorgarten, umrangt von Rosen und anderen schönen Blumen ist liebevoll gestaltet und sehr einladend. Es war eine schöne, unvergessliche Zeit und Sie und Ihr Mann haben dazu beigetragen. Wir haben uns sehr wohl bei Ihnen gefühlt. Liebe Grüße aus Homberg (bei Kassel) Friedrich und Renate

Marvellous Location

A magnificent view of the Loire river. This is a charming little studio and only a short walk from the beautiful village Ambroise. Highly recommendable. Un bellissimo soggiorno / A wonderful stay

Già in fase di trattative via e-mail la signora Yver mi è subito sembrata una persona intelligente, gentile ed aperta; quando l’ho conosciuta personalmente le mie impressioni sono state del tutto confermate: è una persona simpatica e disponibile, con cui è veramente un piacere parlare e confrontarsi, anche perché è una grande viaggiatrice con un genuino interesse per le culture degli altri paesi. Nei suoi studi (io ho soggiornato in uno, ma l’altro è identico), estremamente confortevoli, non manca niente: in particolare ho apprezzato moltissimo l’impianto di riscaldamento a pavimento e la connessione wi-fi velocissima. In caso di bisogno, o anche solo per ricevere qualche suggerimento su come organizzare il proprio soggiorno, la signora Yver e il marito, che abitano sopra ai due studi che affittano, sono sempre disponibili; sono sinceramente grato ad entrambi per avere contribuito a rendere davvero piacevole il mio soggiorno: non a caso, invece delle due settimane inizialmente previste, mi sono fermato un mese e mezzo. Amboise, oltre ad essere sede di un importante castello, nonché della dimora dove trascorse i suoi ultimi anni Leonardo da Vinci, si trova a metà strada tra le due interessanti città di Tours e Blois, e al centro della valle della Loira, quindi in una posizione ideale sia per chi vuole visitare solamente i castelli più importanti, sia per chi, come ho fatto io, non vuole tralasciare quelli “minori”, spingendosi fino a Orleans da una parte e a Nantes dall’altra. Very briefly in English: I appreciated everything: the studio is nice and cosy, with a wonderful heating system and an amazingly good wi-fi connection; Mrs Yver and her husband are the nicest and kindest landlords I have ever met in years of travelling and renting flats all over Europe; Amboise is a nice town and a perfect location to explore the whole Loire valley.

"Das kleine Studio ist sehr nett und vollständig für 2 Personen ausgestattet. Es liegt im Erdgeschoss des Hauses, das auch von der sehr netten, hilfreichen Vermieterin bewohnt wird. Sehr hilfreich war für uns, dass die Vermieterin perfekt deutsch spricht. Wir können diese Unterkunft mit Blick auf das Königsschloss von Amboise ohne Vorbehalte weiterempfehlen."
