My French is not great, but I do want to practice it, so the lady who checked me in purposefully spoke a bit slower and clearer, and I managed to follow along and understand perfectly! "Second visit to Espace Montcalm and still tiptop for value, ambience and its central location in beautiful Vannes. In fact probably better even as I had a lovely view from my room (with a newly renovated bathroom!) and the staff were extremely nice, as before, and gave me the quiet space I’d requested. Vannes is enchanting in itself but also a great base for exploring further into Brittany by bus or train, don’t miss Carnac or Auray. It’s a simple but atmospheric accommodation that attracts...
