"The house was stunning, very quiet neighborhood away from the main tourist area. It is a drive to go back and forth between Palm Beach and here, but you really can not beat this area. The beach is stunning. Overall we would 100% stay here again. "

"The best, is, of course, the view. The owners provided every conceivable convenience and amenity to enjoy the home. They are perhaps the most attentive and involved hosts we have ever encountered.The house is older, but has been well updated. Bedrooms are spacious and comfortable . Kitchen is smallish, but generous outsideThere is endless space to gather together, or find seclusion. Furnishings were nice and generally kid-friendly. The grounds were wonderful, well furnished and maintained.No beach is truly private in Aruba, but as a practical matter…this one is, although the public beaches a mile or two away were more inviting. Baby Beach is wonderful especially for families with small children wanting a sheltered ocean experience.The site is a bit remote. Mostly of the locals, for the locals, aside from ocean front properties. Seemed very safe, as we felt everywhere in Aruba.Aruba is more like Arizona surrounded by some very nice beaches than a Dutch version of Hawaii. It is unequipped for rain, which we had. This property was not immune to the problems of island aging infrastructure. Aruba was a petro-boom town from the ‘20’s until the 1980’s when the massive refinery ceased operations . The country still hopes to resurrect it. If reminders of the world’s reliance on fossil fuels ruins your every day…this may not be the vacation for you.Arubans seemed to us to be the most genuinely friendly people ever, for an economy that does the Faustian deal for tourism."

"My sister, her partner and I had a absolutely glorious week at Martha's Place in Sint Nicolaas. The area was even more wonderful than we had originally imagined because of the quiet nature of her neighborhood and the proximity to two local beaches. The check-in process was excellent as Martha was very flexible on when we arrived and made sure that we knew all the ins and outs of the property once we made it there. The home was very clean and neat and comfortable and could be controlled with temperature even during hot days very very well. The seating area outside undercover was fantastic for late night book reading and chatting over a glass of wine. We had access to a washing machine and were able to hang all our clothes to dry as we needed it during the week. Martha provided other things such as beach chairs and towels which was very handy. The location was a little bit under sold because the proximity to the beach was literally a five minute walk down the hill and you could take a choice of either Baby Beach which was a much busier venue or Rodgers Beach where there was literally nobody. In comparison to the rest of the island we felt that this was by far the most favorable for us because of it's quiet and comfortable residential environment yet close to the beaches. This was our first time in Aruba and there's obviously some people that enjoyed the resort areas that are further up to the northern part of the island and that's not what we are looking for. "

"Ever had a stay somewhere where it was SO good, you don't know where to start the review? This is the challenge I have. So, I'll start with the owners.Cees and Ankie are the most gracious hosts you will find. We arrived later than planned due to a late flight. We grabbed some groceries (which they offered to pick up for us if we wanted). Ankie was there to meet us, walk us through the property and answer any questions we had. She even cooked the frozen pizzas we bought as I had forgot the property didn’t have an oven. The property itself is a perfect size for a family of 4. It comes with everything you'd need: silverware, dishes, pots, pans, glassware, towels, beach towels, etc. They have WiFi in the property which has plenty of bandwidth to handle multiple devices and a TV that has a decent amount of channels. There are AC units in each of the rooms which cool it down quickly and nicely. If you're looking to experience the REAL Aruba, you can't beat this location. It's in a quiet neighborhood and only a short 4-minute walk to Roger's Beach or a 3-minute drive to Baby Beach (you can walk this too). You WILL need a car at this property.Bottom line: If you're looking for a quiet, comfortable, perfectly located place with very responsive and kind owners...look no further. If I ever make it back to One Happy Island, I will be staying here again."
