"The hotel was as described and a lot better than some of the rather mean reviews !! Staff were friendly, and easy going, no rush, the breakfast was as described and plentiful. This is not a 4 star hotel its budget and worked perfectly for me. It does what it says on the tin !! Its great value and so near the railway station , yet on a quiet side street. Whafs not to like ?"

"We had an amazing stay! We were 3 families with small children (age 7months - 7 years). The bedrooms were spacious enough to allow us to have our own space, whilst also being able to enjoy the many communal spaces inside and outside the property. Everything has been thought of in this luxury house, with plenty of space and everything you could need in the kitchen (an absolute bugbear of mine with rental houses). Instructions were really clear for finding the house and getting in, even in the dark. The house manager nearby was responsive and helped us with a few queries throughout our stay. The pool and hot tub area is fab, and well set up for families of all ages. The depth of the pool meant that it was also suitable for less confident (adult) swimmers to use the whole pool. There is lots of land around the house so we went exploring with the kids a couple of times, picked some damsons from the tree for dinner. Even saw some deer! We went out to a few local towns to explore, all with lots to do and good restaurants. Lots of recommendations from Parul and Andrew in the info book for a variety of different options nearby. A couple of well-stocked supermarkets and bakeries were a short drive away; we had no trouble purchasing the bits we needed for our stay. "

"We have just had a great week at David’s house. 2 families with late teens and we had plenty of room. The kitchen is massive and has everything you need and more. The bedrooms had very comfy beds and plenty of plug sockets. There is also a huge lounge with extra dining area and TV. The pool was fantastic, we all felt very relaxed by the end of the week. The town is only a 5 min walk away, with a small shop and a couple of restaurants. We ate in Chez Plissy, lovely food and wine. Another bonus for us was the dark sky, we saw more stars than anywhere before and plenty of shooting stars too. Overall a great holiday home with a fantastic host who couldn’t have done more for us. Would definitely recommend."

"The location is great. As requested, we had a river view room with a tiny balcony. The first reaction on entering the room was "who stole all the furniture?" The room was large, but bare, with no atmosphere. The strip light above the bed strobed and so could not be used. Worst of all, in the morning the shower leaked through the ceiling and into the bedroom. It was too late to fix these things and the front desk was reluctant to give a discount. The breakfast was very sparse and it looked as if they had counted out precisely the number of items for the guests staying. Dinner was very goo on the outside terrace."
