## Emplacement
Located on the French Riviera between Nice and Cannes, the old town of Antibes borders the Grand Bleu and rivals in color. These are particularly sublimated in the free commune of Safranier: cream facades are bordered by lush vegetation declined in a vast palette of pink, yellow, green, red, purple... This part of old Antibes, surrounded by ramparts, offers beautiful perspectives of walks between the quiet and shaded streets, dotted with Provencal blinds.
Continue this bucolic escape to the Cap d'Antibes at the small port of Olivette where the pointed ones with multicolored colors, similar to an Azuréenne postcard, are worth. The more sporty will put on their walking shoes to explore the surrounding trails, starting with the famous Chemin des Douaniers, also called Tire-Poil, 5 km long, spread over the whole of the cape. A sumptuous itinerary facing the blue camaïeu bordering the steep rock, punctuated by the song of cicadas and the delicious smells of the pine forest! After the effort, nothing like a swim in the crystal clear sea: Cap d'Antibes is home to remarkable beaches for snorkeling. Bordered by a long stretch of sand, they are instead full of rocks once in the water, which greatly favors the emergence of aquatic life. Isolated coves also nest along the route.
If you feel like it, take a little height from the Cap d'Antibes and climb up to the lighthouse of the Garoupe which offers an incredible panorama on major sites of the Côte d'Azur such as Nice, Cannes, Juan-les-Pins and the islands of Lérins.
Continue your route to the city center of Antibes, in order to discover some of its major cultural sites. The Picasso museum, housed in the majestic Grimaldi castle that reveals a huge stone robe overlooking the sea, has some major works of the artist: Joie de vivre, Satyre and Faune were born in Antibes when the painter stayed there. Ceramics, sculptures and paintings are scattered throughout this vast space along with other works from modern art. As such, consider visiting the museum’s terrace where imposing contemporary sculptures in ebony tones dominate the coastline.
Outside the old town is the charming port Vauban and its pretty white boats. One comes there for its good tables echoing the sweet flavors of neighboring Italy. And if you go to the scene in the morning, take a look at the Provencal market of Antibes full of local products to take away for a tasty picnic by the sea!
