"We stay with this nice family for three night and really enjoy the time spend here. They have separate attached rooms with small kitchen and bathroom. Two swimming pool was great for children and they are quite deep (one even 5 metres deep) so it not for small children (or at least they should swim). ..."

For snorkeling, would recommend staying in a hotel in Tala Bay closer towards Aqaba as this hotel had ripped out their reef. Didn't have time, but heard that taking a speedboat over to Taba in Egypt is easy and well worth it for snorkeling/diving.
