Gîte au Mouton - ARANDAS

Nestled in the hamlet of Indrieux, in the commune of Arandas, this 6-person gîte welcomes you to a protected natural setting in the heart of the Bugey region. Adjoining a second gîte of the same capacity, it will appeal to lovers of the countryside, heritage, and authenticity. From the moment you enter, the spacious living area reveals the house's character with its imposing old cider press, a testament to its history. Exposed stone walls, warm wood, and a fully equipped modern kitchen create a welcoming atmosphere. Keep an eye out: the farm's cows have taken up residence on the kitchen backsplash! A nod to Emily, the cheesemaker on the family farm, who notably produces the famous Ramequin du Bugey cheese. The gîte is arranged over two levels, with a few steps typical of old village houses leading to additional inviting spaces. It has three bedrooms, each equipped with two single beds (90 x 200 cm), a shower room, and a toilet. Access to the cottage is either through the living room overlooking the courtyard or via a bedroom on the first floor, offering greater flexibility. Outside, enjoy a small private garden and a pétanque court for relaxing moments. Fans are provided in the bedrooms. Located at an altitude of approximately 700 meters, the hamlet generally benefits from cooler temperatures, often 5°C lower than those in the valley below. The surrounding area offers numerous opportunities for exploration: hiking and walks on the Plateau d'Hauteville, cycling routes on the roads of the Bugey region, swimming in Lake Virieu-le-Grand, visiting the Cerveyrieu waterfall, or experiencing the thrill of the Hostiaz via ferrata. A games room shared by both cottages is available, featuring a pool table, foosball, a library, and board games. A wellness area with a shower, toilet, and sauna is available as an option (€12 per day, upon reservation with the owners).
