Beautiful mountain rock cabin with 47 acres of private walking trails to enjoy

If you are looking for a quiet and peaceful retreat, this rental property is the place to be.
The rock cabin was built by hand by a local family many generations ago. It is nestled in the woods of Ararat, Virginia, with beautiful mountains, trails and a creek to explore. Located only 15 minutes from downtown Mayberry. You will enjoy the cozy and private environment with a porch area to chill and appreciate the Mountain View’s
The fire place in the living room sets the mood for a relaxed stay, while the fully renovated, and well equipped kitchen offers the perfect scenario for the family to gather at any time.

Mt Airy, where actor Andy Griffin was born, is just 15 minutes away by car. This cute town is believed to have been the basis for Mayberry, the setting of the TV shows The Andy Griffith Show and Mayberry RFD.
The community holds an annual "Mayberry Days" celebration during the last weekend of September. Surviving members of the cast, along with family members of other cast members, often visit.
Several Ford Galaxie police cars, painted to resemble those used on the show, give rides to guests. A barber shop has been named "Floyd's."
The Andy Griffith Museum, located half a mile from Griffith's childhood home, houses the world's largest collection of Andy Griffith memorabilia.

The Autumn Leaves Festival attracts many people to the city during the festival weekend. Vendors sell food and other items, and there is a stage for musicians of all genres, specially Bluegrass and Old-Time music.

There are plenty of restaurants to visit. We personally recommend Old North State Winery, Thirsty Souls Community Brewing and Plaza del Sol.

You will also love rural Ararat, and will find hidden gems close by like Mabry Mill, a charming old mill in scenic surrounds offering cultural demonstrations and hiking trails.frok Ma

Beautiful and Peaceful!
The property description and photos are very accurate. The home has been nicely furnished with lots of thoughtful touches. It is very private and surrounded by woodlands and mountains. The walking trails are very nice. The north one is very walkable and meanders down by the valley. The valley view from the porch is delightful! We spent quite a bit of time out there listening to the creek and watching the deer play in the meadow. Several attractions and stunning views on the Blue Ridge Parkway and some lovely little towns were a short drive away. We enjoyed spending a few days in this area and the Rock House was a great home base for our visit!

Wonderful!
I recently had the pleasure of staying in the Rock Cabin, and it was an unforgettable experience. The host was incredibly welcoming and accommodating, ensuring that all our needs were met. The facilities were top-notch, with modern furniture and appliances that made our stay comfortable and convenient. The views were breathtaking, with lush greenery and wildlife all around us. We had plenty of activities to keep us occupied, from hiking to going near town to simply relaxing on the porch. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a peaceful and rejuvenating getaway.
