The room was clean, the shower was divine, the staff were friendly and helpful.
Beautiful Victorian hotel from outside but very old inside with older carpet, dark colours throughout and missing charm of the era. Best thing was the clawfoot bathtub!
Our room was on a side street which was very noisey all night.
Too bad that effort had not been made to restore what used to be a very clsssy hotel.
Historic charm with modern amenities. Situated right on the town square of Arcata. The hotel issues you a parking pass which works everywhere but immediately around the square. Lots of great dining options all within walking distance. The restaurant off of the lobby was excellent. Room was very clean, bathroom was large with a claw foot tub (and amazing water pressure).
Hotel is a nice historical place with a lot of the features maintained. Very simple place to stay. There is a town square across the street with some homeless hanging out but they don’t bother you. Nice shops within walking distance.
I checked in as the recent fire raged a block away. Power had been cut in the surrounding area so any formal check-in could not be accomplished. The staff merely handed me a room key and requested I stop by the desk after power was restored, and at my convenience. My formal check-in was completed hours later. As always, my room was clean, the shower is fantastic, and the hospitality is kind & pleasant.
I highly recommend this hotel. I’ve been looking for a hotel that is safe with easy walkable distance to restaurants when I travel through on work. Highly recommend staying here. There are so many restaurants to choose from in the area that are walkable. And beds were comfortable and the hotel was very clean. The staff was also amazing and they had a good variety of food that was well stocked for their breakfast.
Historic building in a great location. Everything about the room except TV & bed was a time capsule from the early to mid 20th century, it appears. If you appreciate historic sites, you will find this place a good place to stay.
An aging hotel that owners have done their best to update. No AC, but do you really need it in Arcata? It would be nice if the windows had screens.
We would stay again but only for one night.
Staff was very friendly and accommodating.
