"The Briers is a beautiful property hosted by Darren, a precious man. He asked after our trip, have recommendations based on what we liked, suggested places that he and his family have enjoyed and was a delight to talk to. The room is spacious, the bathroom is out of a magazine, the view is beautiful and the location ideal. It feels like being in a movie set. We will definitely stay here again when we're in the area. "Manse in the Beach is the perfect getaway. Just opposite a lovely beach which my dog and I had to ourselves. From arriving I felt right at home, the accomodation is beautiful and Sarah & Brian are the perfect hosts. Nothing is too much trouble. I had poached eggs bacon & sourdough bread just yum . I was lucky enough to coincide my stay with a Thai night on the Saturday and the food was delicious, great variety of freshly cooked dishes all beautifully presented. Everything about Manse on the beach is perfect. Location, cleanliness and the hospitality. Well worth a visit 🙂"

"My mum uses a Zimmer and the acces for her limited mobility was amazing. The staff truly went over and above from the second we walked in to the bar, restaurant, concierge, restaurant, spa etc.... I don't know how they get to know everyones names as so many people go through the door every day. Everyone was exceptional. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud. Food was out of this world. We weren't bothered too much yet, restaurant seemed to know just by a look, that we were going to ask for something or needed something. The place is warm, airy, fresh and the atmosphere was cheerful. Thank you so much. You made my Mums day and night. "

"Main standout quality of this hotel is it’s location. Beautiful views of The Mournes and very well maintained gardens. Also ample car parking space. If you want a quiet place to escape then this is it. Very attentive staff and excellent food. We did get the impression that one of the male staff was overworked- it seemed that he was absolutely doing everything, but must stress that he was an excellent ‘people person’ and that nothing was a bother to him. This hotel is only 1.8miles from the beautiful resort of Newcastle and is a perfect base from which to plan your hikes in The Mournes. "
