I did not look out for activities for the young but for a farmer's son I enjoyed observing the animals, was interested in the wine tasting that visitors from out of the country were taking part in. The bed had only one bedside light which hindered reading for lack of light.

Tolle Aussicht, herzlicher Empfang, gutes Essen, sehr familienfreundlich. Service beim Essen könnte einen Tick besser sein (mehrfach Dessert vergessen, Kleinkind nicht zuerst bedient) aber das schmälert das Gesamterlebnis kaum.

A Touch of Drakensburg Comfort.

Loved staying at Ardmore with its family friendly, as well as couples, atmosphere. The dining staff were excellent and very friendly. Arrival was done very quickly and efficiently. The food was amazing and the Honesty Bar was a perfect touch with a great little atmosphere, each room had a little fire going and made the overall ambience very cosy and nice. Great stay would love to come back oneday.

Incredible Location and Staff; Regretable Rooms

I came here on a solo trip to hike the Drakensberg, and it was a wonderful success! Ardmore is situated on a beautiful property with spectacular views and nice walks that leave from the farm itself. 15 minutes driving, you can also start much more adventurous hikes from the Drakensberg Park at the Monk’s Cowl trail head, and those day hikes are wonderful and very well-marked. The service at Ardmore is phenomenal, and I loved their nightly, 3-course dinner (R195 extra per meal). They also have an honesty bar and lots of activities (a pool, paddle board, volleyball, etc.) that you can spend your afternoon doing. My only hesitation with recommending this resort to others, though, is the outdated (and kind of gross) rooms. Everything in the room and bathroom is extraordinarily worn out, and the bathroom had a very unpleasant musty smell. I chose to spend my non-sleeping time in the lovely common areas and only used my room to bathe and sleep.

Total Tranquility

We loved the quite solitude and exceptional view of Cathkin Peak. Having tea in the afternoon and all you can hear is the rustle of the leaves in the gentle breeze and various bird calls, including the cooing of doves.

Rural idyll.

We received a very warm welcome and staff were excellent for the duration of our stay. We had a large room with views of the Drakensberg, comfortable furniture and bed, and a spacious bathroom with bath and shower.

Optisch schön gelegenes Guest House

Ardmore liegt sehr schön und günstig für Trips/Wanderungen in die Drakensberge. Man wohnt in einzelnen Hütten bzw. Cottages und es gibt ein zentrales Guest House mit Restaurant und Pool. Wir hatten die größte Art der Cottages, welche recht komfortabel, gemütlich und geräumig sind. Leider sind sie auch schon etwas "angeranzt". Die Anlage ist abgelegen und nur über eine am Ende 4 km lange Schotterstraße erreichbar. Da man das im Dunklen nicht fährt, ist man abends auf das Restaurant angewiesen, welches mittelmäßiges Essen serviert. Preis Leistung von Unterkunft und Frühstück waren ok.

Rustikt lantligt ställe nära underbar natur

Personalen var vänlig, hjälpsam, närvarande och hjälpte till både med rekommendationer på dagsturer såväl som med att visa runt på gården och ta oss med att klappa fåren. Naturen i trakten var storslagen och vandringarna vi gjorde, i närheten av Monk's Cowl, var fantastiska. Rummet låg i ett konverterat stall med tjocka stenväggar. Det var rätt kyligt mitt i den sydafrikanska vintern men bubbelbadet och den öppna spisen vägde upp. Middagarna var också suveräna!
