We were upgraded to the hotel from a sister hotel that didn’t have an elevator, and we were very thankful for that. But we were put into a room with no hot water. The staff tried to fix it but ended up splitting us into two rooms to better accommodate to our reservation of three people. We were appreciative of this.

Convenient but loud, not a place to relax
This was the noisiest hotel I've used in Arequipa. The walls are paper thin, so I heard the family next to me yelling on the phone until midnight, and then heard the hotel staff early (5:30- 6:00 AM) yelling on the phone all morning the next morning. Hotel staff was very rude, and wouldn't let me go to the bathroom after check-out. They also made me pay before even seeing the room, which was sketchy. Breakfast was packet coffee, a sad little egg, and bread. Rooms were clean enough, but worn with creaky floor-boards, mold, and a broken tile floor in bathroom. Power outlets in the room were broken, my light went out in the bathroom and was not replaced, and the room refrigerator still had stuff in it from previous guests. You can do way better than this for 30$.

Very nice hotel with lovely staff
The hotel is very nice and the staff are lovely. I paid for a basic room and got what I paid for, so no complaints there. However, there was a window in my room that led to the reception area. It had been blacked out on that side, but light still shone through and it was somewhat disconcerting. Also, my room led straight out onto the balcony overlooking the street leading to the main Plaza. Being woken up at 6am by a procession outside my door was not great.
