"This beautiful villa is a hidden gem. The little village is so gorgeous. The drive up through the olive orchard is stunning. We never tired of the view. The restaurant that it attached to the villa is literally at the front door. The food is amazing. Though breakfast is not available, it's a short drive to a nearby town that has several other dining options. The pool is small but private. We would definitely stay here again. "

"Great place to stay with or without a family."

"The staff at the hotel are extremely nice and helpful, going out of their way to offer help and advice. We were also particularly surprised and grateful when a cake and sparkling wine was delivered by room service to mark my daughters birthday, it was a really nice touch. Our room wss nice and clean, plus very comfortable. The added bonus of a TV that let us stream from our devices was nice too. Food was in the main nice/good. We only ate at breakfast and dinner, so only had the buffet food. There was a great salad selection each night and a variety of local foods, plus pasta. Thr pool unfortunately I felt lets the hotel down. As the name suggests, it is an attrium, so it is completely surrounded by the hotel..this means it is a bit shaded at times, but main issue is it was unfortunately not the clearest and had signs that it needed a bit more cleaning along the sides where green algae was starting to show. Other things to consider - it is in a built up area , so there is a bit of street noise and parking is on the street. We didnt struggle to find a space , but did feel like we got lucky. Its a nice hotel though, and very close to the beach. It worked as a good base for our trip around the Island."

"We had a wonderful few days at Aquila Porto Rethymno. The property is beautiful and well maintained and with many additional facilities and games than expected. We went mid-June and had a wonderful time at the pool and beach, easily finding chairs, however, the drinks service was slow. The breakfast spread was delicious and plentiful. Very convenient location with easy walking distance to town."

"Lovely place to stay. Friendly and helpful staff. Parking can be difficult to find at certain times of day, but usually you find something. Pool was lovely. Rooms cleaned well, towels for pool provided. Coffee shops/bakeries, supermarket, laundromat at the end of the street. Lots of sets of approx 2-5 steps throughout the property, so although not multi-storey, is a bit of a work out managing luggage. Thanks for a great stay, I wouldn't hesitate to come back again."

"The hotel was great especially for families with young children. The creche & kids club facilities are really a highlight the best I’ve seen! The staff were all so friendly & helpful. The water park is also a highlight and great for young children with very shallow pools. Food variety & quality was really good & good cocktails at the various bars. Our family room was a good set up for a family of 3 giving our toddler his own room. Overall would definitely recommend to families with young children!"

"We had a wonderful time at the JW. The staff were fantastic and friendly. Everyone there was warm and helpful. We especially enjoyed talking to Angela at breakfast each morning. The property was modern and comfortable with multiple decorative pools. Our room looked straight into the ocean and the tall mountains behind. I was able to dive the elephant and seal caves which were fantastic. There’s a nearby dive shop. I highly recommend Blue Adventures Diving. The beach is small and quaint with nice chairs overlooking the water. Meals were excellent too. Thank you!"
