"The location is very good to access the sanctuary. The staff is friendly and helpful. The included parking is a bit far away (250m uphill), but street parking is easy to find nearby and free overnight. The facilities are a bit old, but clean. Included breakfast was also very good. The overall value for price is very good. A great option if all you are looking for is a place to sleep while visiting the sanctuary."

"How fortunate we felt having booked L'Estancat during our trip to Pau. A delightful old farmhouse set in a small farming community in the most beautiful countryside with a view of the snowcapped mountains and the sound of songbirds. Every morning, after breakfast, she would help us plan our day’s excursions, and just chat with us about families and life. Her primary language is French, so English-only may be difficult, but I’m sure necessary communication is possible. "Je ne recommande pas du tout cette chambre d'hôte. Pour moi chambre d'hôte c'est en compagnie de l'habitant. Pas même un verre d'eau offert à l'arrivée. Réception de nos chambres et le propriétaire est reparti en verrouillant toutes les pièces sauf nos chambres, refusant l'accès à la cuisine, nous indiquant qu'il n'était pas un gîte ! si j'avais su j'aurai choisi un gîte ! pas même de quoi se faire une tisane, pas de frigo. 2 chambres.Et il revenait marcher à 8h du matin au dessus de nos têtes....

Arriving on a Sunday, we had to do self check in which was well organized. My only complaint is that the room desperately needed a deep clean. The floors, bed, bathroom etc were clean and I had no concerns about sleeping here, but the baseboards and walls were coated in a layer of dust and clearly hadn’t been cleaned in a while. "
