"What an unexpectedly seamless stay! There was a shuttle bus that met us at the Shinkansen station that took us to the Onsen. When we arrived, we were ushered to a comfortable lobby for check-in. The bellman showed us the entire hotel and onsen, and walked us through our kimonos and slippers. Lovely breakfast, lovely rooms, lovely Onsen... and another free shuttle back to the Shinkansen station. We will definitely return! "

"I loved our stay here! The staff are very helpful and there’s a big supermarket at the back of the property, a park, hot springs and skate park with restaurants."

"Hallways smelt poorly, carpets are stained throughout the facility. We got the 4 person japanese room (only 2 in the room) and it was adeqaute for us. Outdoor tub included with room can only hold two people, food included with half board was buffet style and wasn't very good, however had a decent selection of western, japanese and chinese cuisines."

"Great slice of cabin in the woods humble abode. Clean and warm. You will need a car with AWD and snow tires if visiting in the winter. Beware though, there are monkeys in the woods and they come out in the warm late afternoon. While they're incredible to see, they're smart so keep your food close, snap some pictures and steer clear of them. "

"The property is nice, the onsen is a terrific feature and the staff were excellent and helpful with our many questions for inbound/outbound travel. However, for upwards of $400 per night, the dining options were rather basic and, given the hotel's somewhat remote location, the sporadic shuttle schedule and drop-off locations made the ski resorts somewhat of a challenge to reach."
"The stay is modest and older but that’s totally fine! The host is so kind and helpful and the beds and bathrooms were clean! It’s def a place you can meet other travelers and is SO close to the train station!"
"It's a stunning hotel from the time you roll towards Hotel Green Plaza. When you get inside, again some wow factors, some very old vintage structural engineering marvels which you have got to appreciate.
Ski-in-ski-out lockers for hotel guests are good, access to cortina is right out the door.
Buffet breakfast has a good selection, dinner is also good.
Can get extremely crowded during peak times.
Rooms are nice with a blend of tatami x western style bedding - however mattresses were quite old for our rooms. You can defintely feel a difference after skiing/snowboarding all day.
Location is a bit out of the way and buses can skip the resort so you should either have your own vehicle for convenience or need to plan very well for the shuttle bus.
Overall we enjoyed or stay "
"Very clean, modern hotel with excellent service from the staff. The hotel shuttle to the ski areas in Hakuba was very convenient. The hotel shuttle even picked us up when we were shopping in town and could not catch an Uber or Taxi. The service was exceptional."
"Hotel was fantastic - location is ideal for snow access with one lift across the road (10 metres) and another two within a short walk. The runs at the resort at perfect for early beginners, but easily connect to the gondola for more experienced riders.
Location is too far from restaurants to walk, a shuttle or taxi is required. We didn't mind, the food at the hotel was great and we preferred the excellent snow access.
Staff were really helpful, picking us up from Hakuba Goryu and dropping us off on the way out.
The food was really good - a few rotating buffets for breakfast including different types of eggs (scrambled, poached, boiled, omelette) and sides like bacon or pork or sausages.
Dinner was wonderful each night - something different and Japanese plated for us along with a buffet selection or sides.
Bathroom was small but serviceable, room size was otherwise good.
I read some of the really negative reviews before coming and it made me incorrectly worried about the hotel - we had a great experience and I don't understand those reviewers at all. This was a great lodge like experience right on the snow."
"Large rooms. Excellent onsen and outdoor pool and sauna. Direct access to the ski area. Ski in and out. Free shuttle to Minami-Otari train station. Very reasonable lift ticket prices that allowed you to ski Norikusa and Cortina. Staff very helpful as well. All around great place to stay. "
"Title: Misleading “Private Onsen” Listing – Not What Was Advertised
We booked this property specifically because it was advertised on Hotels.com as having a “private onsen,” and we paid a premium price under the belief that the onsen would be attached to our room and available for our private use 24/7.
The listing showed beautiful photos of what appeared to be an outdoor private onsen and mentioned that a bathing fee would be charged per night (though it did not disclose the cost). Based on this description and imagery, it was reasonable to believe we were booking a room with a private, in-room onsen experience.
However, upon arrival, we learned there was no onsen attached to our room at all. The “private onsen” is actually a small indoor bathing room available to any hotel guest for 1,500 yen per use. Although it is ‘clean’ it looks NOTHING like any photo we saw, it had a musty feel to it and it must be reserved in advance, and time slots may not be available at the requested time.
We essentially paid an exclusive rate for an amenity that was neither exclusive nor as portrayed. The experience did not match the advertising, and that was extremely disappointing.
We contacted hotels.com immediately the first night we stayed there through their customer support chat, and the lady was incredibly unhelpful/rude and did not understand the issue. She even tried to gaslight us into believing the 1500 yen per onsen trip was just the bathing tax they specified on their website. It "
