"The property is extremely old, reminded me of the movie, the shining with Jack Nicholson and it smelled. The air conditioning system did not work in my room. The front desk was accommodating and switched my room. "

"The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast (not free) was wonderful....crab cakes benedict. Plus the hotel is right in the middle of downtown with lots of restaurants and shops. Will definitely stay here on our next Asheville trip."

"Such a perfect central location, within a few blocks of everything you'd want downtown: restaurants, shopping, the art museum... The most comfortable cloud-like bedding helped us relax and sleep in. The staff were so friendly, and gave us a list of area recommendations upon checkin. We tried the Bargello restaurant and had a delicious breakfast. No coffee makers in the room, but they have a great complimentary coffee service in the lobby bar. Highly recommend this hotel!"

"The only negative issues of a lovely hotel was the horrible location of the elevator and fact that the large bright sign says La Quinta. We could not find a Country Inn, after looking all over it. Local phone number was not listed. Is it legal to turn local residents away? It should not be!"
