This was one of the best, most unique places I've ever stayed. I booked it because of the outdoor amenities (hard to top the view and the outdoor fire pit and hot tub), but I also really appreciated the minimalist, warm decor and design of the room; I felt like I was at a spa. The room amenities were thoughtful (water carafe, electric kettle, and wine glasses) and delicious (I usually ignore hotel tea and coffee but theirs was wonderful). I would love to stay here again.

Beautiful hotel! Was the perfect place to stay for rest, relaxation and recharging. The view is everything! Hot tub and sauna was the perfect end to the night. Only thing that I would give a heads up about is that you can hear the cars from the main road, if that bothers you try to get a room that isn’t facing the road.

The Herondale has it made with their view alone, but they still go above and beyond throughout the rest of their property. The room is well appointed and the Salt & Stone products are wonderful. While I normally prefer a second story room, the first floor was excellent for getting to walk right out and enjoy the views from one of their many seating areas. We enjoyed the hot tub and sauna, and even though we aren't robe people, used those too. Immediately told a few people about this must stay spot. It made our first visit to Astoria truly wonderful.

My family and I had been visiting this hotel for years 2-3x per year while it was still the Crest Hotel because of the superb location and reasonable rates. The rates are no longer reasonable, there is no longer a delicious complimentary breakfast in the lobby, the coffee was terrible and the Jets in the hot tub weren’t working. Pros; the view is still superb and the staff was really wonderful. Like so many other places on the Oregon and Washington coast, locals can no longer afford to stay and enjoy our own beautiful coasts. I would love to see the owners drop the prices substantially during the week.

The #1 reason to stay here is the view. We had a lovely time watching the sunset on the water every evening from the outdoor patio space. It was also great to be able to walk down to the river walk but still be far away enough from town to have quiet and privacy. We were disappointed that there wasn’t any housekeeping during our stay - we stayed 3 nights and ended up having to take our own trash to the dumpsters, get extra trash bags, and bring dishes back to the lobby. Not the end of the world, but surprising for the price and “luxury” label.

We loved Desiree. She is sweet and a hustler. We saw her bring drinks, check people in, bring towels to the spa, and she also helped housekeeping with setup. We would stay here a hundred more times. Relax and retreat here!
