"We had a lovely 2.5 week stay in this very homely little house which has been beautifully restored. We particularly enjoyed eating breakfast and dinner on the balcony which has stunning views of the bay.
We found the house well equipped, with a good range of kitchen utensils (including a garlic crusher!), many condiments and herbs provided, and even a washing machine. Although there was no air conditioning, we just opened all the windows and had plenty of ventilation. There is no wifi at this property and you need to be aware that no cars can get up the road so you need to carry water, shopping, luggage etc 5 mins uphill. You could get a motorbike if this was a problem. You do need to be aware that even if you are 5ft 4 you cannot stand up in the bedrrom area. We got used to this and it wouldn't put us off staying here again.
We used the very efficient Astybus for one week and hired a jeep for the other week to enable us to explore the more remote parts of the island where the dirt roads are challenging! Astypalea is a stunning island with lots of different beaches and is not too touristy.
Maria, the property manager was very friendly and helpful, as was Laura when we unexpectedly had to change the dates of our booking.
Overall we had a wobderful time and would recommend this property."
