A lack of recent rainfall exposed this clay bank along Wright Patman Lake in Bowie County, Texas. Beginning in 800 a.d., Caddo Indians used clay from this region to make their famous pottery. The earthenware pots were made by hand and fired in an open fire. Impurities in the clay had to be removed by hand or sieved out before making fine pottery.

"This property was perfect for my husband and me while in town visiting my daughter and other family. The owners were super friendly and available for any of our needs. We basically just needed a place to sleep and we were able to slip in and out without disturbing anyone. Didn't get a chance to have a cup of coffee by the pool, but that backyard oasis was stunning!!!"

"We really enjoyed our stay at the Art Deco Gilded Cottage on Speaks Street. The cottage was beautifully decorated, clean, and easily accessed with keyless entry. We had all the amenities of home (even a full size washer/dryer). There is a fire pit and sitting area for conversation/cocktails in the evenings. Nice quiet area.
