"Hotel staff extremely nice and helpful. Only complaint really was I ordered a deluxe double room. This was pretty basic for deluxe! (although very clean) needed an upgrade on bed and general appearance rather tired looking."
Holiday Inn Dumfries by IHG

"The Dumfries Holiday Inn was an overnight stay for us. The room was large and comfortable, and in the new part of the building. It was clean and functional and we had no complaints. The dinner was of a good standard, and the staff handled a change of order mid-way well. We had wine served in a slightly dirty glass, but that was dealt with promptly and with an apology and minimal fuss. The bar staff, waitress and waiter couldn’t have nicer. There was a suggestion made about a walk round the really interesting grounds of the university that the hotel sits in. The waitress knew about a map that reception had but the receptionist did not. That was sorted, so an early morning walk was taken and enjoyed. Breakfast was good and very much enjoyed. Check out was simple. A good hotel, that we would recommend and would stay at again."
The Golden Lion Hotel

"I think it was the third time I have stayed here and as in the previous occasions I have nothing negative to say about it. My single room was spacious, the shower was good, the bed nice and firm. I didn't have my room serviced each day by choice but was asked if I wanted it to be. The hospitality tray was topped up well too. Breakfast was plentiful so yes all good."

"David and Pauline brilliant hosts very accommodating especially when traveling with two kids all round brilliant and rooms very clean and all the staff helpful will definitely be back again! Ample parking at back was very impressed all round I can't express enough friendliest hosts ever nothing was a problem"

"A very decent hotel 5 mins from the train station. Room was hot (July) even with the window open, which was not ideal due to the constant noise of the seagulls (an unfortunate consequence of them being protected for some reason!) Nice staff/owner. Good breakfast. Good value for money."

"Stayed for 3 nights had a comfortable clean stay the lodge has everything you need surroundings are so peaceful not far from town centre about 10 min drive for shops etc hot tub was fab Nigel sent all details needed for checking in which was easy he also popped in for a quick hello & to welcome us very friendly & made sure if needed anything or any problems to let him know I highly recommend & I will be back again for a nice relaxing break thanks."

"The meals were very tasty and nicely presented. Breakfast choice was tailored to suit individuals. Staff were friendly and pleasant. Nothing was too much trouble. The hosts went over and above our expectations. A genuine pleasure to stay at this location"
