Beautifully situated on the banks of Worromontogus Lake just outside downtown Augusta, this waterfront duplex home is the perfect escape for two couples or a group of friends seeking both privacy and togetherness at the water's edge.

This lakefront home is made up of two separate living spaces, each with its own entrance - a one-bedroom lower level and an upstairs studio. The house sits on the banks of Togus Pond (as it's known locally) - a 654-acre lake with depths of up to 49 feet, where it's not uncommon to spot bald eagles, geese, beavers, and turtles. This certified wildlife habitat is an ideal home base for those looking to be convenient to Augusta on their way to or from Acadia National Park.

Your visit begins on the window-lined main floor, where you can take in a view of the lake from nearly every room. There's a full kitchen where you can prepare breakfast each morning, decks on both sides of the house where you can bring your coffee, and even a provided canoe to take out for a morning paddle. The rest of the day can be spent reading in the sunroom, relaxing in the living room, and gathering with your loved ones around the outdoor fire pit.

There's one bedroom (as well as the sunroom) on the main floor, as well as a separate studio upstairs. The studio enjoys gorgeous views of the lake on three sides, a private balcony among the treetops, and its own full bathroom, queen-size bed, and mini-fridge and microwave (but no full kitchen). Other recent updates include air conditioning, free high-speed WiFi, and Roku TV for use with guest log in.

The setting of the home is beautiful. The two mechanisms to get into the house are dated technology. When we arrived it took us 45 minutes and three calls to your local manager to get three different codes. Once we got the Lock box Open for the key we were able to open the lock one time but we’re concerned with locking it again(which we couldn’t even do) in the event we could not unlock it again. Once inside the cabin you can lock the deadbolt. But not from the outside. You really need to upgrade your lock technology. Airbnb houses have advanced locks that only require a code and no key. You offer a great Franklin stove but no tools do use it. You should supply a shovel to empty the ash into a Ash Bucket and an ashcan outside to further deposit the ashes. You can’t have a fire with his fireplace. The bathtub is an absolute hazard and I’m certain it did not pass ADA compliance. It is totally ridiculous that it is 3 feet high and you have to use a little stepstool to climb into it. It Does not have a nonslip surface and we had to stop using it after the first day because both of us almost slipped and fell out of the tub to the floor 3 feet below. Even if you are grandfathered in you should have more respect for your tenants. You need to tear that tub out immediately. An added feature would be some type of barbecue gas preferably. The first day we were there we were able to park fairly close to the cabin but you had to walk through a grass and mud mess. The second day when we came back the place where we parked our car was barricaded off and we had to walk even further to get to the cabin. We rented this cabin for six nights and we’re fed up with the bathtub situation especially .I called to cancel the last night which you would not do. Again Poor customer service. I think you should’ve let us slide one night when considering the many .inadequacies of this cabin. I would never recommend this cabin.
