Nice hotel just outside the wall and next to the train station. Very convenient. Great staff. Very spacious room, comfortable bed but the seating could use an upgrade. Would stay again.

Rooms are worn, carpets are faded. We moved rooms once because of a rattling air conditioning fan. We moved again when we came back and the second room smelt of sewage. That was a downgrade with a portable air conditioning unit in the room with a hose sticking out of the window. Hard to recommend.

The staff and the hotel were lovely. The hotel is just outside the city walls so everything is within walking distance. The train station is literally two minutes walk from the hotel. The breakfast is plentiful and varied. The room we had was very clean but could do with an update but that didn't take away from the pleasure of the room. The bed was very comfortable and the shower very powerful. Great air conditioning and even though we were so close to the train station, the room is completely soundproof. The only negative I have is that the parking, even though it is underneath the hotel, is public parking at a cost of €1.80 per hour, or €18 per day.

Pros: * SPACIOUS!! * 2 TVs - one in the bathroom and one in the living room. * patio door access to a small garden and dedicated table/chairs for each room. Cons: * facility is kind of old. The carpet is quite worn out and sofa cushion is very soft. * AC control unit isn't intuitive. I eventually had to turn it off to avoid loud noise.

It is in a great location, just a short walk from the train station as well as various excellent bars, cafes and restaurants. We booked a double room but were not expecting two queen size beds in a very spacious area which included a small living room complete with a sofa and table. The balcony was large with metal chairs and table but, in the sunshine with the temperature sometimes over 35 degrees, a parasol would have been nice. We found on arrival that the door to the balcony would not open but a call to reception produced a fix within only ten minutes. The breakfast choices are extensive but the quality is better than most hotels I have been in across Europe. I have been so used to the slightly industrial taste of orange juice in other hotels that I really appreciated the 100% fresh orange in this hotel - the machine literally squashes an orange for you and you can taste the difference. Without exception, the staff were friendly as well as highly professional. Overall, it offers great value for money and we would definitely go back to this hotel if we ever end up in Avignon again. One thing though: bring a bottle opener! The courtesy bottles of water in the mini bar on arrival had beer-bottle like tops. We didn't have a bottle opener. We soon bought one in Avignon but we encountered during our stay other guests heading for reception bearing unopened water bottles and bemused expressions.

Big, well located, but in need of investment

The good: Its huge and low rise, the public areas are quite nice, there is a vast underground car park and its right by the city walls, close to the main station. The bad is that the rooms need a refresh. Old design, everything showing its considerable age, damage and dinks everywhere. This is a 2* place.

Our room had a very bad smell. Carpet was dirty. My towel had a hole in it. The courtyard right outside our room, people should not be allowed to stay there past certain times to let others sleep. The bathroom had no space/shelves for any toiletries.

The beds in the room were clean. The carpet was not--stained with black gunk all over. The bathroom smelled so heavily of mildew/mold--and the entire room did as well. We had to buy room deodorizers our first day there but they only partially masked the odor. The bathroom was not 100% clean (odd dark splashes of drips around) and there was mildew/mold rotting one corner of the shower. This is no more than a 2 star hotel and is in desperate need of renovation. The room was on the front side of the hotel, so you could also hear all the traffic. I would not stay here again.

Wir waren im Rahmen einer Radrundreise für eine Nacht in diesem Hotel. Unsere Räder konnten wir über Nacht sicher in einem separaten und abschließbaren Raum unterstellen. Der Check-In verlief problemlos, wir bekamen sogar ein Upgrade auf ein größeres Zimmer. Das Frühstück war OK. Zu unserer Frühstückszeit war leider gleichzeitig auch ein kompletter Reisebus anwesend, wodurch das Personal an seine Belastungsgrenze gebracht wurde und für die anderen Gäste die Gemütlichkeit und Ruhe ein wenig gelitten hat. Aber das ist Pech gewesen. Ansonsten würde ich auf jeden Fall wieder hierhinkommen. Ein sehr gutes Hotel.
