Solo female traveler would have preferred a second lock on the door, a deadbolt or chain, it only had the lock on the door knob. Window was unlocked in the bathroom. However, this is the outer banks with not a lot of crime.

This was just a great place to stay! Very convenient (and walkable) to lots of places to eat. Rooms were clean and simple and perfect. The whole property was clean and well kept. The staff we met, Billy and Braedon, were very friendly and helpful and provided us with loads of information—guiding us to come back!! The other staff in the office were super friendly and helpful too. We are so glad life afforded us to come to Avon and stay at the Avon Motel!!

I arrived late night with nowhere to stay because of having made a mistake booking. These people were super nice and put me in a cottage at a great rate. They were friendly, professional, and open arms for future stays. I enjoyed the room as it was clean and had everything needed.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was spacious. The outside area has beautiful flowers and is an easy walk over the sand dune to the beach. There is a lovely, colorful outdoor sitting area, as well.

We hadn’t been down to Avon since 2016 so we booked our room with Avon motel and we’re completely satisfied and glad to be back! Great location a lot of things that are nearby that you can walk to, really liked our room. It was very clean and everyone that works. There is really nice so we will hopefully be back next summer.

OBX motel

We wanted to start our OBX family vacation a day early and needed a 1 night rental. This was the only motel/hotel we could find that would allow 1 night. It was clean and spacious for us and our guest. 5 minute walk to the beach. We would stay again!
