Did you know that Catalonia, Spain, is full of fantastic wine tasting opportunities? It's not as famous as Spain's La Rioja region, but it's a great place for lovers of the grape to worship.

This particular winery is Oller del Mas, which was actually originally a castle. Today, it's both a castle and a vineyard. Go all the way up to the top to take in spectacular views at sunset of the surrounding countryside and fields of grapevines.

The mountain in the distance is Montserrat, which translates to "serrated mountain" because of its spiky rock formations.

Oller del Mas is located in Manresa, a city an hour's drive outside of Barcelona. Trains run regularly, and take about an hour and a half to get there.

The Castle of Cardona is arguably the most important medieval fortress in Catalonia and one of the most important in Spain. It is situated on a hill overlooking the river valley of the Cardener and the town of Cardona.

The fortress was initially constructed by Wilfred the Hairy in 886. It is in both the Romanesque and Gothic styles, and includes the so-called Sala Dorada and Sala dels Entresols.

"Notre sejour s’est bien passe. 2 petits bemols cependant concernant la proprete du bien notamment dans la cuisine ( placards, vaisselle) et la proximite avec la route et la pension canine qui representent des nuisances sonores. A part cela le proprietaire est charmant et tres disponible. L’entretien de la piscine et du jardin est fait tous les 2 jours et la maison est spacieuse et les jardin et piscine tres agréables"

"Nous avons passé un agréable séjour. La maison est très grande nous etions 10 personnes et nous ne nous sommes pas marchés dessus. Manque un peu de grands plats et de poêle de cuisson adaptée pour 10 personnes (mais c'est un détails). C'est très calme et reposant et c'est un vrai bonheur. Par contre le point negatif est les odeurs de porcherie très envahissantes du midi au soir avec forcément les mouches qui vont avec et c'est vraiment dommage. "la verdad que todo super bien. Marta muy atenta y simpática con nosotros. Nos dejaron preparados un surtido de embutidos de su tienda que estaban buenísimos. Cuidaron mucho los detalles de la casa: papel higiénico de sobras, hielo en el congelador sabiendo que el supermercado más cercano estaba lejos, leña y carbón para la barbacoa, toallas de sobras, etc. repetiremos! "La casa es muy curiosa, aunque muy antigua. En las fotos parece todo muy moderno, pero la realidad es otra, aunque no está mal. Algunas sillas y sillones necesitarían renovarse.El principal problema es que la cocina es pequeña y tiene muy poco espacio para lavar los cacharros y menos aún para secarlos.
