"For the price of a hostel, this hotel was a comfortable and convenient choice. Breakfast included, the rooms were clean and the bed comfortable. Being and older building the noise from within the hotel can be quite loud but ear plugs will fix that. The toilet may talk to you during the night due to the older plumbing system. (sounds only)"

"On the Golden Halong website, it states the hotel has a spa, gym, tour desk, room service and bar. It has none of these. The staff speak minimal english, making it difficult to ask for advice on local attractions, restaurants or shopping. The location is terrible, no where near the marina that all the tour boats operate out of.
