"We loved our stay at mallard Lodge and would definitely recommend. The weather was awful but expected in January but it didn't stop the kids fun. Lots of places to see. Great walks. Was wonderful to return to a warm, cosy lodge and a relaxing dip in the hot tub. Not fantastic TV reception or WiFi but we were there to escape all that. Anything we needed help with, selina was only a call away. We are looking forward to visiting again. X"

"We all had the most wonderful New Year stay at Curlew Lodge, it was spotless with some lovely personal touches such as fresh bread, eggs, butter & a chocolate cake that was delicious! The garden & views were lovely. The weather was terrible for most of our stay so didn’t manage to explore as much as we’d have have liked. "What a charming hotel, full of character and perfectly located for exploring the local area. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, friendly, and welcoming, going above and beyond to assist with parking and offering helpful recommendations for local walks and amenities. Our room was stunning, beautifully decorated, spacious, and exceptionally comfortable. Thoughtful touches such as tea and coffee-making facilities, luxurious bath products, and everything needed for a relaxing stay made all the difference. The attention to detail throughout the hotel really enhanced our experience, and it was clear that guest comfort is a top priority. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to return."

"I booked a twin room which was clean and a good size. The mattress on my bed was very uncomfortable so I swoped it with the pull out bed underneath our bed. The mattress was smaller than the original mattress and was too small for the base but it was very comfortable, a good mattress. I didn’t mention this to the staff at the hotel. The fan in the bathroom didn’t work efficiently but otherwise excellent. The meals were very good and delicious."
