Chateau Rooms

8/10 Good

"The property is certainly unique, but you have to know certain things before booking. It’s run more like an Air abnb than a hotel. There’s no formal check-in or check-out process. If you arrive before 5 PM the restaurant will be closed and there will be no one to assist you or answer any questions. There are only three rooms total and they’re all located upstairs above the restaurant. If you can’t get your own bags up the outdoor staircase this may not be the place for you. An access code gets you into the vestibule that houses the three rooms. There’s a funky key system for the rooms as well. All that being said it’s a hidden oasis down a dirt path smack in the middle of Bolton Landing. The room we had was spacious and well appointed, as was the bathroom with huge walk-in shower. Excellent water pressure as well, always a welcome treat. Although there are more dramatic views of the mountains and the lake from other vantage points, it feels very serene and tucked away. An added treat is the restaurant Chateau on the Lake. Fine dining with wonderful food, wine list, ambiance and staff—without the stuffiness."

"My husband and I decided to take a last-minute trip to Lake George, and staying at Waters Edge Lodge was one of the best decisions we could have made! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed. The staff was exceptional, especially Andrue and Mike, who went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and made us feel right at home. The location is absolutely perfect—situated right between downtown Lake George and Bolton Landing, making it easy to explore both areas while still enjoying a peaceful retreat. Our room was cozy, clean, and comfortable, and the private beach was such an amazing bonus. We loved being able to relax by the water without the crowds. We would have like if the rentals were included with our stay. The entire property has such a quiet, relaxing atmosphere, making it the perfect place to unwind. If you’re looking for a beautiful, peaceful place on Lake George with outstanding hospitality, Waters Edge Lodge is the place to stay!"

"We truly enjoyed our short stay at the Pine Wood Cabins! It was extraordinarily hot outdoors this summer July 4th holiday, but along with a cool shower, our small cabin’s air conditioning made it very comfortable after a long day’s drive there from NYC. The cabins sit independently for privacy with a space for your vehicle. Our cabin was clean, stocked with toiletries and we were able to connect to the WiFi with ease and our television was cable ready. On the grounds, we experienced very peaceful mornings, people drinking their coffee on the porch. We would return afternoons to see some folks grilling their food, while small children played outside. The nights were very calm quiet, and the property was beautifully lit for added safety. The hosts here are the owners of the property, and seem to give individual attention to their guests in our experience. They introduced themselves and are genuinely sweet and friendly people. They gave us suggestions on where to eat and directions to different locations. We enjoyed getting to know them a bit personally which you don’t get at the big chain style hotels. Angela met and pet our dog and wanted him to be as comfortable there as we were! We would certainly stay there again as this was our first trip to the Adirondacks region. We thank them for a lovely stay!"
