We enjoyed all the comfort of a warm and welcoming home away from home with our dog. Cooked easy meals in a very well kitted out kitchen. Found the beds very comfortable, the photos and art very interesting and the rugs very cosy! Location is great though our car was essential of course! Lindsay was available if we had any questions and the Welcome hamper very generous! Very safe enclosed garden area for our cockapoo. beds really comfortable

My best friend and I really liked the cottage and the garden area was beautiful. The property was spotlessly clean and the host had left a generous welcome pack. There were very explicit instructions regarding the placing of linen and towels at on our departure as well as being asked to sweep the floor. A lovely short break.

Have just returned from a lovely stay at Lower Folds. Cannot fault a thing, from the warm welcome from the owner to the stunning location. Lyndsey meet us upon arrival with coffee and biscuits, provided us with helpful information for our stay. Lovely walk from door to Magpie mines, Lathkil dale and finishing at amazing garden rooms for huge cake. Only 30min drive to Mam Tor and ridge walks. Kids enjoyed speedwell cavern and Abraham heights. Cottage perfectly stocked with kitchen essentials for eating in and was so cosy we was happy with this. Wished we could have stayed longer. Thank you.

We had the most amazing time at Lower Folds, it was so easy to communicate with Lindsey and the check in process was so smooth. When we got there, just WOW! The place was spotless and Lindsay had clearly put lovely finishing touches around the place to make it homely! In terms of location we couldn't have asked for better, close enough that we could walk into Bakewell along through peaceful fields(~45mins), and easy to jump in the car to explore what else the peak District had to offer! We can't wait to come back and stay at lower Folds! X

Lovely comfortable cottage, tastefully decorated with beautiful views out over the hills. Kitchen has wide range of equipment and good quality crockery and utensils. Lindsay was very helpful, and the plentiful supply of local maps and walking guides were much appreciated. Enjoyed walking down to the river, ideal for bird lovers. Also did the Monsal cycle trail twice, which was great, though would advise getting there early, particularly in school holidays, as very busy by late morning. Bike shed at back of cottage was handy. Lathkill Hotel has simple unspoilt bar area with great views over the dale, good pub food, if a little overpriced compared to other local pubs. Overall, thoroughly enjoyable stay, and would definately recommend this cottage and location!

This was our first visit to the Peak District and my wife and I were not disappointed. We were met on arrival to Lower Folds by the owner Lindsay who turned out to be the perfect host for the introduction as no stone was left unturned regarding information. A much appreciated welcome pack was also provided. We were aiming to do some walking and were pleased to find out there were a number of walks from our doorstep which we took advantage of. The property is very close to Bakewell, which we now know to be a very pretty town and definitely worth a visit, and not far away from Chatsworth which was also taken advantage of. All in all we had a brilliant few days in a new region for us, in the perfect property and location. I would recommend Lower Folds to anyone and we most certainly wouldn't hesitate to book again for a return visit. Many thanks to Lindsay for bringing such a lovely property to the holiday market.

Lower Folds is a beautifully appointed cottage in the heart of a lovely rural village. We were welcomed at the cottage by Lyndsay who, apart from supplying a very thoughtful welcome pack, had lots of information for us on what what happening around and about during our week. The cottage had everything we could possibly have wanted and everything in the cottage is of a high standard. We spent much of the week walking in the local area, so the little back entrance hall was particularly useful when taking off muddy boots etc. The local hotel has a great bar, good food and a fun quiz night. Everyone is friendly and welcoming and it's less than a five minute walk. Bakewell is just over two miles away and is a beautiful town. It's a few minutes drive or a great walk across some fields - well signposted. Chatsworth and Edensor are definitely worth visiting. In fact we didn't visit anywhere on our week long stay that we didn't enjoy. This is a beautiful part of the country and this cottage is a gem of a place to stay.
