Amazing hospitality and staff. One of the best. Location is perfect. Breakfast is perfect. Hotel located on street without cars, you shoul walk approx 100 meters, when you arrive by taxi.

A very conveniently located hotel, very close to the main sites in the old city and plenty of restaurants to pick from for lunch or dinner. We stayed in a Deluxe Twin Room which was spacious enough for 2 adults. The bathroom was large but the bidet was not user-friendly (an issue I had in most hotels in Azerbaijan). There is not really a proper view from the room, you just see behind the hotel onto a main street. The breakfast area was quite small but never got too crowded when we visited in mid-June. The options were sufficient. One slight issue is that the room card only goes to the floor your room is situated in. The gym was located on another floor, so I had to go to reception every time to get someone to take me to the gym. The road to the hotel was closed when we visited (possibly in preparation for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix) so was quiet, but down the road, is the very busy main road. The staff were friendly and helpful. We flew out very early for our flight home and the staff were great enough to provide us a good portion for breakfast in the morning. I would definitely recommend this hotel as its located in a superb location, very close to the historical sites and the boulevard alongside the Caspian Sea. Restaurants and shops nearby as well.

Good Hotel with Good location

The quality of hotel and location are very good. There was a slight leaking issue on our last night that came from the ceiling. If not for that, I would have rated it 5 stars.

The Merchant Baku organized a smooth airport pick-up which put us at ease at the start. At the reception, the personable Mr. Pervez made the usual processes effortless. The location of the hotel was great and our room was comfortable. The Dining area Supervisor, Mr. Nahid was an excellent host and took care of our choices while Mr. Akbar provided prompt service. Although our trip was short, we had a lovely holiday, all thanks to the hotel staff who made it possible. We look forward to our next trip to Baku!

Wonderful tasteful impeccably clean rooms and public spaces with a mostly very professional staff, the pleasure in this hotel is the thoughtful touches in each room. Having said this, while soundproofing of windows to outside streets (very busy and active at night) is pretty good, soundproofing to hallways and next door rooms is abysmal and it was not possible to get staff to implement some measure of sound control for totally out of control party rooms. This meant zero sleep in a beautiful room.

Most wonderful hotel!!!

This hotel is so wonderful and is the best place I have stayed yet! The service was just, wow! Outstanding by Kameron (had to ask his name because he deserved a HUGE shout out after looking after us during our stay). I actually feel pretty bad because I stayed in this hotel in March but due to COVID, totally forgot to leave a review. I promise you, this hotel has the most amazing cocktails, the bar staff will make any cocktail that isn’t even on the menu. ;) We actually reserved a table in the bar every night over our 4 night stay because we loved it so much, the room itself is particularly beautiful too. Fantastic staff! Fantastic location! Fantastic food (especially breakfast - We were given an option breakfast menu and it was outstanding; I believe they were starting to do a buffet style now but am sure it is just as great)! Loved this hotel and we still talk about our stay here with such great memories!

Great hotel but disappointing service

I was looking forward to staying at the hotel and really wanted to score it high but the service was really disappointing. It's a beautiful boutique hotel in a perfect location next to the old town and buzzy area of bars and restaurants. I really enjoyed my stay there. The problem was that when i was trying to call the hotel, the call didn't go through, then when it did it said the call transfer failed and when I got to talk to reservations, the lady told me couldn't transfer the call as she had no such option and I needed to call again. With the 10th attempt, I gave up. We called room service three times on different occassions. Only once they brought what we asked for. The other two times no one bothered and when we called the reception to tell them that nothing had arrived and we were going to sleep they said they were sorry without any attempt to actually chase to deliver what we asked for. We also checked breakfast started at 7am, whereas the guy at the reception insisted it started at 7.30 and then told me to go the bar to check, I told him that he should go and confirm and not sending the guest to sort it out. The service was really disappointing. The only competent person was the bar manager who always greeted us with a smile and ensured we were ok. Long wait for a coffee at breakfast too. I would say, more smiling, more thinking about the guest would help. It's a great hotel as a building though. Very small gym.

Awesome hotel in a great location in Baku

The service and stay was excellent. Having travelled in the region for a couple of weeks, this was by far the best hotel I stayed in. The rooms were large and comfortable, the staff friendly and helpful and the breakfast was substantial. The location was really good as well. Very closed to the old city and other sites. My only negative was I asked for two issues to be looked into, one was the toilet seat, which didn't seem to be addressed and the AC, which again was difficult to see if it was attended to. However, overall this is an excellent hotel and I would definitely stay here again without question.
