"Aux Charmes was our stopover the night before crossing from Calais on our way home to Scotland. We have stayed in several locations whilst making our road trips and Boulogne Sur Mer has become our preferred place to enjoy a last evening on the Mainland! Aux Charmes has been a great find. It is in a quiet Cul De Sac, yet a very short drive to Boulogne, and equally the A16 motorway. Even I, as a Scotsman did not mind the fact that we had to pay a toll before the free section to Calais. "Large free car park and very pleasant lady on reception.Clearly somebody smoking drugs as the overpowering smell in the corridor which also seeped into our room forced us to request another room which was organised.Very sparse and basic breakfast but the couldn’t care less attitude of the male on reception in the morning was truly appalling."

"Le Flobart is a jewel of a find. Perfect, low-key and characterful. Very clean and comfortable. Windows of our room opened-out to the road below pleasantly busy with the passing locals and to a view of the sea, including the remains of the sea-fort ruins. Check-in and check-out were effortless. The long, wide and empty sandy beach is literally just across the street. We missed enjoying Le Flobart's cuisine this time, but look forward to trying it next time. For us it is the ideal off-season...

"Excellent communication, easy access. Large room with comfortable bed. Relatively quiet, given property near centre of town. Parking may be an issue as spaces are a premium- easier with motorbike. Kitchen facilities are communal. Overall, very enjoyable stay. Merci beaucoup "
