Room not great at keeping noise out - could hear footsteps overhead from residents upstairs and voices carried across the count yard late at night. "We rather liked Kemps Yard, which must be fairly new to the listing. Very convenient for Thirsk town, quietly hidden away from the main road, and clean and cosy. Parking in the yard is almost impossible, although the neighbour is an expert at manoeuvring his pickup down the lane! The visitor's permit lets you park on the road and saves you from endangering your vehicle, but you may get your step count up while you unload. We were ok with the cobbled lane, but it wouldn't be so good for those...

"Hi good comfortable stay though the curtain in the room (145) is almost completely jammed and the pelmet is hanging down on the right hand side. This needs attending to as it keeps the room dark and comfortable to sleep in. parking suggests guests are not the only ones using it, on arrival tea time car park was jammed later much clearer. Breakfast was good staff attentive and helpful"
