horrible experience
We did not stay at this property , when we arrived at 730pm the door keypad was not working after calling and getting lock pad cod and then entering the house to find it had not been cleaned for a long time. The beds were slept in , and bathroom linens from the last guest were in bathroom floorand etc. It had a closed up bad smell. We called in took pictures and was told they would try to get someone out to clean sometime ? We left and went and rented hotel for the night. They would not give me a full refund as promised. Would not recommend , this place is run down and NEEDS ATEENTION .

Property is dirty. Dishwasher was broken with a sign on it. There is mold in the hall/LR bath. Automatic lock did not work. Automated support line for Vacasa is bad. Finally got a real person and they were helpful. Definitely a disappointment.

Fun Slopeside Stay - But what’s with the microwave?
Really fun budget-friendly stay for a spring break slopeside. Plentiful blankets and pillows, fun decor, great slope access and views, nice mudroom and cozy spaces. Only complaint: The microwave is struggling.

Nice view, convenient location for young agile skiers
Pros: Walking distance to slopes; beautiful view of slopes outside living room windows; cozy atmosphere in cabin. Cons: Getting into cabin requires strenuous walk up steep and crumbling rock stairs; spiral staircase between laundry room and main floor not easy for toddlers and senior citizens; thermostat was glitchy.

Dirty, Dirty Unit
Weekend plans wrecked by filthy unit that was never cleaned. Ended up having to drive to Blowing Rock to stay in a clean motel. Avoid Vacasa managed properties like this one at all costs— no one on-site to assist or provide us timeframe for resolution. Renter beware.

Cute cottage in the mountains.
The listing accurately describes this small ski lodge. The ski slope is right across from the lodge. The space is tight, but it met our needs. The beds were comfortable. A very neat design. We enjoyed the stay.

Not clean
While a lovely cabin in a great location, the cleanliness of the property made it very difficult to enjoy. It did not appear to have been vacuumed, and the corners, in particular, were covered in dirt and dead bugs. There was trash in cabinets under the sink and behind nightstands (which we moved to plug in chargers) and a layer of dust and grime on most surfaces. There was an unknown substance all over one of the shower’s walls that fell off while showering. The very visible dirt made it difficult to feel at ease. Less important, there was also no coffee (though hundreds of filters and two coffee makers) and we wished we’d known to bring our own. Overall, very disappointing and wish we’d stayed elsewhere.

It was clean but wish offered more towels, kitchen supplies. Again beds were awful to sleep in….also dangerous flooring around pot stove and steps were very loose.

Spend a little extra to stay somewhere better
The pictures are not accurate, they are definitely glammed up. On arrival our cabin was "missed" with housecleaning, so when we walked in after a long day of traveling we were furious. The sheets were not changed, the floors had not been vacuumed or mopped, there was trash on the cabinets, and an unpleasant smell. The property manager was very nice and went and cleaned it himself, but it still did not sit well with me. My husband and I would have found a new place to stay with getting a refund, but there was nothing available in the area we wanted to be in.

Quiet retreat before school begins!
We wanted a quick and short getaway before the pending school start and even though we couldnt stay for a day due to some personal work we did manage to get a good rest in solitude. Nearby banner elk park was large enough and had variety to keep both our kids 2 and 5 entertained and excercised.

Cute Cabin with Beautiful View
This cabin is tucked away on Sugar Mountain. It backs up right to the woods. If you like chipmunks, you're in luck! You'll probably spot a few scurrying along the sides of the mountain or across the road. We became especially fond of "FRED" the deer on the wall. Great place for three or four people. It was very nice to have the large glass windows to take a look around. Good WiFi connections and cable keep you entertained late at night or if it rains. Be advised that access to the cabin requires navigating steep stairs. Not the greatest for lugging up luggage. Probably not ideal for the elderly. or disabled. My two teenage daughters and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to one day making our way back again. We'd recommend!

Great little spot !
We loved this little property, it was perfect for us and we were beginner snowboarders. We did have some plumbing trouble while we were there and also couldn’t locate the dumpster to dispose our trash, but the house was great! Would definitely stay again!

Cute Mountain House
We had a great time and really enjoyed our stay. Sugar Mountain and Banner Elk are fun to visit and the views were spectacular. I only had two complaints about the house. It was advertised as a 6 person house. I have no idea how 6 grown adults could fit in that house because we had difficulty fitting 2 adults and 4 kids. It was very tight in the house and was hard to maneuver around. Lastly, the front stairs and accessibility inside the house was difficult. The front stairs could stand to be redone to make them a little safer walking up and down. I’m not sure how you would maneuver them if it was snowing. Overall, we had a great trip

we stubbed our toes often!
we enjoyed our weekend getaway here, but we found ourself stubbing our toes anywhere we walked. there were slight raises in the floor going into the bathrooms and then the fire place. other than that it was a great house. the walls are VERY thin. you hear everything.

Was not very happy! There are quite a few suggestions that should be addressed.
We did not like there were no fans in the rooms, no trash cans in the rooms, we had to take our own trash down. On the day we left the area of where to take the trash was closed. So , we had to bring it home with us…. There needs to be lights along the steps leading to the house at night, my cousin fell and has a severe sprain. I wish I would have researched the comments better because I never would have rented there. It was not the stay I had hoped for…. Not a good cabin if you have children or older adults…

This cabin was so cute and personable. The only thing that we didn’t like was the fact that the windows didn’t have any shades in front so you could not watch tv in the living room, the glare from the sun was terrible. We couldn’t close the blinds at night so you can always see through the house. Also, the microwave handle was broke so we had to force it open with the end of a spoon. Once we got it open, only 2 buttons worked on the microwave. Overall I would definitely stay again if I knew these issues have been taken care of. Super clean and has a beautiful view.

Ski weekend
Easy to find and park, easy to get in, cabin had everything we needed as there. Cozy cabin, for 4 people was perfect! TVs in all rooms, had roku so everyone was as pleased. Great views, cool deck. Walk across the driveway and was able to ski in/out. Nice mud room downstairs for equipment. Loved our stay at Slopesider 27, it’s been well used, but was perfect! Water pressure great in bathroom. Careful on the water in bathroom sinks-gets scalding and the microwave handle was broken, and the dishwasher never turns off, like 12 hrs straight lol. Only negatives for us, but not a big issue.

Please fix up
I have several rental properties and if any were as run down as this place I’d never have any renters. No handle in the microwave. Have to open it with a knife! Carpets not even vacuumed AT ALL. Pieces of debris everywhere. The cold water comes out HOT and could hurt maybe a child in a tub. Tub in one bathroom poorly repaired. Come on... replace it! It needs a face lift and a good once over cleaning. Two of the three TVs were not operational for half the time we were there. It was advertised as “ski in/ski out but it was NOT. Very disappointing BUT the location was AMAZING!!! View through the windows was SPECTACULAR!!! Loved the endless activities. Overall a very nice experience but the write-up needs to not include ski in-ski out. And fix things and clean it.

It was like staying in a tree house
This house was perfect for our short get away! It’s located across the street from the slopes, but it’s very easy to access the slopes. The place was very clean and supplied towels and shampoo + body wash. We will definitely be back! A few things to know: - There is a stairway leading to the house that is was very slippery - it wasn’t a problem for us, but might’ve been for older persons. - the staircase leading from the ground up (inside) is very narrow but there is a side entrance to the main level from one of the bedrooms - there is the slightest step up into the bathrooms and leasing into the kitchen, I only tripped once
