The Perfect Victorian (downtown)

This victorian style apt ( on the first floor) dates back to 1890. Recently restored with love and artistic touch. It is spacious, bright, and convenient, well kept the rare found of the original tin ceiling in the bedroom. Right in downtown, walkable to everywhere, 5 min to Main Street, Island explorer free bus stop, Village Green, library, museum, historical churches. 10 min to the waterfront with easy access to many restaurants and more.

- First Floor (with 2 steps)
- The sofa bed is a full size (recommended for no more than 140 pounds for your own comfort )
- Off-Street Parking
- Washer & Dryer
- Laundry room is on the first floor which is a corner room next to the stairway.
- Heating: Oil heating heats the whole building with one thermostat on the first floor with a locked screen due to problems in the past. It's very easy to send a request if an adjustment to the temperature is needed. Your comfort is our highest priority. Thank you for your understanding!

*** ATTENTION to OFF SEASON guests (Nov-April):
Laundry: No laundry. The laundry room(corner room) is shut down from Nov to April as it’s not insulated. Laundry Matt is within 3 min walking distance.

We had a great stay. It was quiet (both in the neighborhood and in the house), kitchen had what we needed (although we ate out a lot), and no complaints about the facilities. It wasn't in the heart of town, but everything was within walkable distance. We would stay there again.

This property was very cute, charming and had lots of character. Much nicer than staying in a motel. It was updated, clean and perfect for me and my daughter. Rudy, the property owner was very nice and his property manager lives on site so that was very reassuring and she was super friendly. The location was wonderful, just a few blocks from the main shopping and restaurant area. It was a great experience and I would definitely stay there again!

Nice place in great location

The place was cozy and has a nice kitchen. Short walk to lots of great restaurants and shops. Parking was great to have so close to everything. Short drive to Acadia (shuttles weren’t running yet). Will definitely stay here again!

A Generally good stay

great location close to Main St. Kitchen and part of bath undated. Cons: toilet crooked; floors in rooms old. Communication process for check in a little rocky: didn't get electronic documents or check-in info until last minute; onsite housekeeper had changed. Pros: Owner worked hard to clear up communication confusion despite being away on vacation.

Great location

Our stay in Bar Harbor was very pleasant. The location of this property was just on the fringe of the core of residential Bar Harbor and great for easy walking access to restaurants/ice cream/bars in downtown. The house was clean, kitchen well equipped and bed comfortable. Bedroom lay out encourages use of furniture for clothing storage rather than “living out of a suitcase”. It was especially nice to have laundry access. If you have bad weather day, note that the living room layout was not extremely usable.

Great Place to stay in Bar Harbor!

Great location in Bar Harbor. Park your car, avoid the traffic because you are in walking distance to super cute Bar Harbor downtown. Owner and property manager were super helpful. We had a couple minor needs and property manager responded very quickly. We would definitely stay here again

Beautiful space to enjoy Acadia

This place is perfectly situated to enjoy Bar Harbor and Acadia. The owner is so helpful in orienting you to what is in the area and the apartment is very comfortable. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone headed to the area.

Unique property in terrific location

Very old house with some quirks but extremely functional and nicely decorated. Double sinks in the bathroom with lots of room for your things. Comfortable queen bed. No air conditioning but lots of windows, a fan in the bedroom plus a tower fan. We thought that might be a problem but house was very comfortable in August. House is a 6 minute walk to the free shuttle service that will take you anywhere you want to go in Acadia. Five minute walk to shore path which is a beautiful way to walk downtown. Easy walk to lots of restaurants and shops. You literally do not need a car. Very responsive owner! Definitely recommend.

Walking distance to town

Ruddy provided excellent communication before our stay and we found everything in order when we arrived. Bar Harbor is a super cute town with adorable streets and cottages. Unfortunately, this street was not as adorable as some. The house was nice, it was close to town, and very walkable. It is just that the houses around it were not quite as charming. However, we did enjoyed our stay. We are also VRBO owners of a place in the Rockies, so we are probably more particular than the average traveler.

Very comfortable and great location

We enjoyed our stay very much, the location is outstanding for walking to town and having the ability to park our car there was a nice feature. I also sprained my ankle in Acadia and the hospital was very convenient to the location as well! Kitchen had everything we needed except a pizza pan, maybe we shouldn't have bought a pizza at the grocery. All and all a great stay!

Lovely place to stay in Bar Harbor.

We enjoyed the first floor apartment in this lovely Victorian house. It's very close to Main Street and all the shops and restaurants in Bar Harbor. From the house, we walked a big loop that included the beautiful Shore Path. It's also walking distance from Hannaford's, which was very convenient for stocking up on provisions. Last, but not least, the bed was very comfortable and that was an absolute blessing after a day of hiking in Acadia National Park!

Great Bar Harbor Stay

The property was in a good location for walking everywhere. Recently redone and updated. Great kitchen, great bath, and great bed! We were there late November. Could use a small space heater in the bathroom, and a reading lamp in the living room. Short, dark days need this extra help. Ruddy and Nathaniel were responsive and very helpful. Would definitely recommend this place.

Nice property indoors, clean, good access to Main St. and town . Apt had car parking and access to house washer/dryer. Linens were average quality, would have liked a nice garden or porch to relax and house frontage faced a small commercial building.

Perfect!

Ruddy was incredibly communicative whenever we asked questions... also the apartment was larger than it looked in photos and beautiful! The location was perfect, we walked right into the heart of bar harbor. Would absolutely stay here again!

Highly recommend!

My boyfriend and I stayed at Ruddy's place for just shy of a week. It was a perfect for the two of us - PLENTY of space (easily enough room for 4) and stocked full all of the necessities you could need for a trip! The location was so great - walking distance to everything that Main Street and downtown Bar Harbor had to offer and it's conveniently distanced to all that Acadia National Park has to offer...not to mention, a parking spot! It was the perfect place to stay at to enjoy the outdoors during the day and dine/walk around at night. Ruddy was such a great host - so very nice, welcoming and communicative. Would definitely stay here again!

Wonderfully easy and comfortable place

We feel so grateful for the opportunity to stay in this Bar Harbor home. The communication was very easy. And, the cleaning team did a terrific job and we arrived to a safe and well cared for space. The home is walking distance from the main stores and harbor area. All is comfortable and cozy. The kitchen, bathroom and beyond all have new and perfect condition equipment. A perfect spot for two people, and easy to cook at home or head out as preferred. Highly recommend and would stay again if available.
