The Yooperlite House - Tremendous 1-bedroom tiny house cabin in cozy L'Anse

"So, to start, it has everything you could expect there to be in a tiny home, and more. The temperature outside was in the 80's when we got there, and the air conditioning had the place nice and cool. It features a full sized comfortable bed, with a single bunk above it. A full kitchen with appliances, plates, silverware, pots and pans. Cold bottled water in the frig along with the surprise organic chicken and duck eggs! There are soups, teas, and coffee in the cupboard, and oh yeah, a candy bar treat on the counter! A wet bath with a shower, toilet and sink. Clean, and "like new" looking, it looks as though, it was just built and freshly furnished. All the linens you need, and more blankets and pillows than you could want. As for the build of the tiny house, high quality materials and impeccable workmanship, with more than a touch of creative imagination! Outside, a screened shelter with a picnic table, and a fire pit in a large quiet setting. Attractively decorated with flowers and even tiny lights. A deer walked through while we were there. Lauren greeted us and checked on us during our stay. She and Peter couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. A cozy, and, in our opinion, better, alternative to a motel room, at a very reasonable cost!"

"Everything was clean, comfortable, inviting and a great place to just reset for a while. Being right on the lake was wonderful, and the stars were shining and bright in the evenings. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely book again in the future."

"We really enjoyed our stay at this cabin. Although there were some areas that could use some dusting of cobwebs and a few small hairs in the bathtub, the overall appearance of the cabin was clean and appeasing. The bed was comfortable and the bedding and towels smelled fresh and clean. The view and outdoor area are beautiful. The host was easy to contact and got back to me right away about directions to the cabin. We would love to come back to the area and stay again sometime!"

"This property worked well for a short stay in L'Anse. The overall feel is more "bachelor pad" than "Grandma's house." Furniture is comfortable. The neighborhood was quiet and felt safe to us. The kitchen is generally well stocked, if a bit cramped for counter space."

"This is a perfect place for a couple. Comfortable bed and nice hot water were greatly appreciated. Communication with host Vern went smoothly. Unit is adequately stocked with cooking items. Location is quiet, just behind the fire station. Plenty of parking. Our travel was summertime, so parking could be different with snow on the ground. Close (walkable) to Portage Lake. It is a 10 minute drive to Michigan Tech's campus. If you are eating out, most restaurants will be found in Houghton. Super appreciative that this is a pet-friendly place."
