Fraisthorpe Beach, north east of Fraisthorpe, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. The blocks are concrete pillars which. were placed in the coast to keep the German tanks out of the UK during the Second Wold War.

Clay cliffs and sea defences, Barmston, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. The rocks were put in place as part of the defences against invasion in the Second World War. As a consequence, the cliffs erode slightly slower behind the defences, and slightly faster on either side.

South Field, Barmston, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. Looking south across Barmston Drain towards Ullrome caravan park. There's an odd little bit of Barmston parish just south of here, where the parish boundary wanders out across the beach and back inland at 'Highlands' just north of the caravan park in the picture. Whatever feature caused the boundary to take this course has long ago been lost to coastal erosion.

We found these beach style ‘crop circles’ walking along the beach from Fraisthorpe to the Spa, loved seeing these today. The south beach is great in Bridlington. A wide, clean expanse of sand that gently shelves down to the sea. Perfect on a sunny day.
