the lifts were not working properly and regularly stopped working. trying to go up and down stairs whilst on crutches due to spinal injury. was offered use of service lift ,but much more walking involved. check both lifts are working before booking

Size of our family room was brilliant. However the air conditioning/heating pumps were underneath our window. The noise all night was awful. Especially around 6am when the noise increased!! It was a shame because staff and breakfast were brilliant. Rooms a bit shabby, especially the shower.

Staying in Barnsley

The hotel was very nice. We had a large room which was comfortable with a good shower and plenty of hot water. The staff were very friendly and we ate in the restaurant twice both meals quite acceptable.

Mixed bag of experience

The hotel has decorated the bedrooms which is good. The bathroom was not clean and smelt of urine. They need to increase the size of the car parking spaces as there is no room to get in and out of your car due to others parking too close.

Good service.

Hotal good,clean.Staff friendly and helpful. They's no pool or gym as thought they was , reason for booking,but they's a swimming pool about 2miles away.Room had comfortable bed and a good shower room. Restaurant have friendly staff and the food was very good. The location is easy to get to and good for sightseeing.

Nothing good to say about the place really. Rooms are in a poor state of repair, I had to insist on a new shower head as the original was disgustingly filthy and clogged. WiFi is terrible and patchy, not suitable for a business trip. Room smelled stale as did the corridors, the hotel looks and feels.old and tired,bar attached is shockingly expensive and overall my impression was very poor

Oh dear....

The room is very tired and in need of major refurbishment including electric and bedside lights. the room was supposed to be an accessible room but as a wheelchair user, it was far from accessible. the toilet was too low the safety rail between the shower and toilet was not safe and falling away with rust. the shower head and rail are falling off and broken. when a neighbor uses their facilities, it can all be heard through the drains. the sink is not accessible from a wheelchair nor are the soaps. All in all, the worst holiday Inn we have stayed in and we have stayed in a lot over the years, the first being The Post House in Chrick now a Holiday Inn in 1973. The Staff are lovely and welcoming and we did report some of the items to them. we were told it is up for refurbishment but we will not be staying here again until that has been completed

The room was big and spacious, the bed was firm and i slept really well. I was trying to see what mattress was used so i could buy one. I was attending a wedding in the local area was was ideal. The view from my room was a pitch behind the hotel and i heard cheering l looked out of the window and saw alot of naked men running around the pitch with a crowd, im assuming some sort of charity thing, but it made me laugh. The only down sides was the hairdryer didnt work, after a few minutes it stopped and wouldnt come back on. I had to keep messing with the wire, and the shower was broke so it wouldnt stay up fully, which make it hard to wash my hair while stood in the shower.

Only down side was woke up by noisy people at 2am then 5am, but no fault of the hotels , Martha in the restaurant was excellent as I couldn’t read the menu and she helped me and sorted it for me even though I was worse for wear for drink !!

Kitchen ventilator made the whole room shake

Room 135 is above the kitchen, the hotel knows it makes the room vibrate until 21.30, but don't vare about it. I was promised a compensation, but got nothing. They just wanted me in and out as quick as possible. I am not comming back. I can't say anything about the rest of the hotel, this is only for room 135
