"Everysingle staff member was kind, helpful and positive. They were genuinely thoughtful and went out of their way to help with anything needed. The room was incredibly clean, the view was stunning, the pool was fresh and not overcrowded. All of the meals were delicious, (mahi mahi ceviche was out of this world) we enjoyed every breakfast (large portion), it came with various fresh fruit, homemade bread and coffee, latte or cappucino. Jack and Abraham our servers were so kind! We enjoyed the golfcart rides to the main road, the drivers made us feel like friends, Jose, Walter,Oscar,Anthony, (all of them)imprinted positive memories on our hearts! The owner was cheerful and kind, greeting us regulary, making us feel right at home. The views from everywhere were spectacular! We especially enjoyed watching the sunsets, whether it be from the infinity pool, dinner, our balcony, or most memorably, from the rooftop, listening to music, having appetizers and delicious drinks! We took a fabulous tour of the rainforest with Clarence, his knowledge on the animals, wildlife and plantlife was impressive, he showed us macaws, a sloth and different species throughout the hike that is included in the stay! Our concierge Edson was amazing! He set up excursions, shuttles, taxis, special meal requests, answered questions and always stayed kind, thoughtful and helpful. Overall it was a trip of a lifetime that we will cherish for a lifetime! "

"Great little hotel housed next to a coffee roastery. Room was pretty cool, with nice bathroom and bedroom, and all amenities (aircon and fan also). Coffee and breakfast were good and there's also a little shop next to reception (where you can buy coffee, souvenirs, and - more importantly - their great caramelized cocoa beans! We didn't eat at the restaurant (apart from the included breakfast), but the menu looked nice also!"

"Great friendly and helpful staff. Amazing views and local wildlife and flowers. Great location, walk to restaurants, shops and Manuel Antonio National Park. Steep hill to the reception and rooms is a work out but no problem if taken steadily and reception provides golf cart rides as needed. Restaurant food very good too."

"If your looking for a quiet peaceful stay, this hotel is for you. There are little amenities and no TVs. Every morning there is guided meditation at 0730 jrs and different classes such as yoga. "

"We loved staying at the Shana by the Beach. Highlights included our room (we had an amazing oceanfront view with double king beds, kitchen and a balcony with dining table), the pool area (has an adults-only side with infinity pool view of the ocean, though it’s a little small, and a 2 for 1 happy hour from 3-6 pm daily), delicious complimentary breakfast (however, they serve the same dishes daily and might consider changing it up a little), and abundant hotel wildlife like white faced and squirrel monkeys and Toucans. Amenities were clean and the staff was friendly and attentive. There is also a jungle path (7-10 minute walk) down to Playa Biesanz, which is a small public beach nestled in a cove (bring water shoes as it’s a little rocky and cash for drinks and snacks). Playa Espadilla (public beach) is also only a 10-minute Uber ride, and in my opinion the nicest of the four local beaches I visited, even Manuel Antonio Beach. A few suggestions or things I learned: (1) per my research, we rented a car but should have just got a shuttle from the airport to Manuel Antonio, (2) driving around Manuel Antonio is hectic with windy roads and tight spaces, so ubering is inexpensive and hassle-free since restaurant are close; and (3) the monkeys that live around the resort will open your balcony door, so keep it locked. Overall, I would recommend this resort for its location to Manuel Antonio Park, abundance of local restaurants, and its room and restaurant/pool views of the ocean. "

You feel completely relaxed, surrounded by beauty, yet supported by an incredibly thoughtful and attentive team who clearly take pride in what they do.
