Only the communication with the owner and the housekeeper was difficult. It was not clear for us how to check out and in. And we received a strange SMS message from the housekeeper that we had to pay 100 euro extra, which was not true..."

"We enjoyed our stay here very much, the house is nice and roomy and well equipped. It’s in a private area with gate system which gives a very secure feeling although being in a sleepy village there wasn’t any cause for worry. parking space for 2 cars. We were glad of the airco in the dining area as temperatures got quite high in the afternoon/evening. Two nice little sitting areas at the side of the house to relax outside but we did miss having a garden for more active relaxation. Not seen in...

The property is spacious and very well equipped. The view from the deck is lovely. Overall a very pleasant stay."

"We booked the house with three families with small children for a short 4-day vacation and it was completely unsuitable for families. Details follow: - [ ] The entire house was not "clean". All floors were dirty, dusty everywhere and bathrooms and toilets were also very dirty and unkempt - according to the owner, a cleaning lady was sent over 2.5 days later. So we spent 2.5 days in a completely filthy and unkempt house. - [ ] Kitchen utensils broken, dirty and generally poorly equipped - [...

Chantal, the host, is most agreeable and accommodating, and will go out of her way to help if you wish it, or leave you alone to your own devices if you don't. I highly recommend a visit to the area for all the sights and sounds Alsace has to offer and the warm welcome you will receive.."

"The best gite we’ve stayed in, with lots of lovely small touches. If we were really picky the pool could be a touch bigger, and there would be seating outside rather than on a covered terrace (which was hot in the heatwave we experienced). But this place comes highly recommended! The wine couldn’t be more local, and the owners Richard and Monique and their family can’t do enough for you!"

"We stayed for 1.5 weeks in this very pleasant cottage. It has a small kitchen on the ground floor, lounge and dining table on the first floor and a nice bedroom in the attic. The cottage is newly refurbished with new wooden floorboards and beams complementing the original 18th-century ones which gives it a nice atmosphere. The cottage is only a few minutes' walk from the vineyards and the dozens of well-marked trails that criss-cross the Alsace region, including the GR5 route. Barr serves well...
