"Eclypse del Mar is a uniquely, beautiful location. We stayed both in the overwater bungalows and the treehouse so we were able to enjoy the ocean and forest views. We were thrilled to be able to feed the fish through the opening in the living room floor of the bungalow.
The staff is so welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Rashi, JJ and Francesca made us feel right at home.
We had some of the best animal sightings at the reserve, including a mother sloth, travelling the treetops with its twins and were able to feed a big caiman and two little ones. It was absolutely amazing."
"My stay at the Lodge at Punta Rica was one of the most enjoyable and relaxing vacations I have ever had. Nestled on a hilltop on Bastimentos Island and overlooking the Caribbean Sea, the lodge was a peaceful haven of tranquility, beauty, and relaxation—exactly what I needed after a hectic and stressful season of life. The hotel staff met me at the airport and transported me by boat to Bastimentos Island, a short 20-minute ride from Bocas del Toro Isla Colón.
Brian and Dan, the owners of the lodge, were hospitable and accommodating in every way. Brian, a professionally trained chef, prepared meals that were scrumptious, healthy, and beautifully presented. The desserts were especially delicious and decadent; the chocolate donuts and chocolate mousse were the best I have ever had. Every meal at the lodge was locally sourced and prepared with love and careful attention to detail.
The room I stayed in was spacious, nicely furnished, and conveniently located near the pool. Although the rooms do not have air conditioning, the fans kept the space comfortable. There are also no televisions on the property, which allowed me to focus on the natural beauty of the lodge, decompress, and disconnect from the noise of the outside world."
"The hosts Naty and JC were excellent. Very responsive, friendly, helpful with transportation assistance and tour offerings. Breakfast was top tier as was dinner. Would highly recommend"
"We stayed for four nights in the jungle lodge with ocean view. The lodge and view were excellent. The lodge is rustic but comfortable, with excellent air conditioning, clean bedrooms and bathroom. We got a kick out of the outdoor showers! The staff were helpful and attentive, however, the primary way of communicating is via WhatsApp and the responsiveness and clarity could use improvement. The pool, beach and zipline are all worthwhile experiences. The hotel staff will help you reserve excursions as well. The resort is sprawling and getting around can be somewhat of an ordeal unless you reserve your own golf cart."
"La habitación posee ventilador, pero la ventana carece de mosquitero. Destaco la atención del dueño y la encargada que a pesar de estar haciendo refacciones no cancelaron la reserva y permitieron que nos alojáramos como únicos pasajeros en el hostel. Excelente la excursión a Cayo Zapatilla con Randall y Amir, el budín de Tita imperdible!!"
"What a gorgeous beach! This was a magical place with the friendliest staff, a great restaurant, and beautiful accommodations. I chose the Jungalow room because I wanted to be immersed in nature. The structure was rustic, but it was so cool hearing all the jungle noises while I slept. The shower was also big and open to the jungle, which was really cool. My friend chose a newer air-conditioned room, which was really lovely. We met travelers from all over and we’re having breakfast with them by the last morning. Highly recommended!"
"There was nothing we didn't like about the Bungalows! They were very clean, comfortable and the view from the deck was gorgeous. Our hosts, Alfred and Sonia, were so helpful and generous. They shared tips about the islands, and booked the water taxis, so we were never stranded or overcharged. Sonia is the "Queen of Breakfast". Jerry, the chef, was not only an excellent cook, but he was also very atuned to our tastes and requests. The rooms are fully stocked, and if we needed anything, it was supplied (we borrowed fins and umbrellas). If you get a chance to go here, do it!"
"Beautiful suite and friendly staff.
The walk to town was difficult and not well maintained- I would not want to do it after dark. The food was good but very pricey ($25 USD for dinner of pasta with no veg or protein even for a child who received a smaller portion and of course no wine!) and disappointed there were no local food options. Otherwise very happy with the stay and the staff!"
