"Very well run establishment, helpful staff, the restaurant dinner was well above average pub standard, good choice of fish main courses. Freshly cooked eggs for breakfast made a nice change in addition to fruit and cereal. Safe parking and easy access from the M1. "

"Clean hotel. Not very friendly staff. I paid £15 for late chexk out at 1 pm (normal check out at 11). At 01.04 pm, I received a phone call and simultaneously someone was knocking the door to tell me that I am "late" for check out. Not very nice 😕 "

"Room was snug as advertised which was not a problem but the shower was very poor - controls were broken which meant couldn’t switch to overhead from handheld … clean & tidy but staff were not very smiley & welcoming. Cooked breakfast was very good appreciated the complimentary late checkout "

"Apart from my room which was warm and comfortable but lacked a bath towel, with only a shampoo and a very little round soap being provided, the whole place seemed sad and lonely. The Reception was poorly lit and signed, and was cold and damp; I appeared to be one of only two guests staying on the Saturday night and the guests in the room next to mine kept their television on until 5.15am and periodically seemed to drop something heavy on the floor. I was much later arriving back, after my orienteering run, than I had intended, as I got lost and spent some four hours finding the hotel again, meaning I only got to bed at just before 2am on Sunday morning, instead of around 11pm on Saturday. I appreciate that the guests coughing and having the TV on was not the fault of the hotelier but was the final straw. In the advert, on your booking form, the hotel was stated as having a restaurant. It was only when I arrived that I found this was not the case and no food was available, although I was told that I could have toast and cereal for breakfast, as long as I did not want it too early. In the event, I overslept and did not get up until 9am when I ate some more of the cold provisions I had had to stop and buy on my was back from the orienteering to the hotel. I am definitely not a happy bunny about all this and feel that the hotel provided misinformation about its facilities."

"Didn’t even end up staying here as after I booked and rang them to find the exact location of the hotel, they told me they didn’t have space and re-directed me a 20 minute walk to another property that was not acceptable at all. When I asked to be refunded or have my booking cancelled, they told me it wasn’t something they could do as Hotels.com needed to do. Contacted Hotels.com explaining the situation and they had been unable to make contact with the Hotel initially. And now I’m left out of pocket, paying for a hotel room that I didn’t stay in. Between Hotels.com and this hotel, I’m so disappointed and upset."
