We had a wonderful stay in the Cart Lodge cottage. Location was perfect - easily accessible from the main yet very quiet and secure with plenty of parking. Cottage had everything we needed - including very comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen (we cooked multiple times) and a cozy sitting room. Best feature: the sheep! Loved watching them from the window and feeding them digestive biscuits in the morning. We would definitely stay again.
If you want to get away from it all & enjoy the peace of the Sussex countryside the Cart Lodge is perfect. Great little cottage, which is well equipped & in a good location to explore East Sussex.
The sheep in the field are great fun, demanding their biscuits as you sit & enjoy the sun.
Thanks Nina for a great week
We had a terrific stay in this lovely cottage and it was great feeding the sheep in the fields. Can’t wait to be able to stay again.

We had a wonderful, relaxing stay at the cart lodge. The owners are friendly and the place is full of homely touches to make your stay comfortable. Loved having my morning tea on the sunny terrace with the sheep coming to greet you. So peaceful, would definitely recommend. Short walk to the pub also!

What a wonderful get away from it all location.
What a wonderful get away from it all location. Although it is close to the owners property, it is completely private, with just the pet sheep for company (who love a digestive biscuit). Having said that, the owners are extremely friendly and happy to chat if you want to, and nothing is too much trouble. We had a completely relaxing few days away.

Lovely cottage, lovely hosts, lovely area. Had everything we needed plus biscuits, milk teabags, sugar, orange juice waiting for us on arrival! The sheep were the icing on the cake. Would recommend to anyone!

We have had a lovely week at The Cart Lodge.
We have had a lovely week at The Cart Lodge. The owners were very friendly, approachable and helpful. The welcome pack was very thoughtful and the cold jug of water in the fridge on a hot day welcome. The location is beautiful and quiet with plenty of views and wildlife to sit and watch and listen to with a cuppa. It was lovely in the evening to listen to the owls, and during the day the sheep provided plenty of entertainment. The lodge was well equipped and comfortable, however some of the kitchenware needed washing before use and the BBQ also needed a good scrub. We visited many attractions in the area and recommend Drusilla's for those with children, and Bodiam castle is pleasent and picturesque. A fantastic week for all the family, and we hope to be back again in the future.

A real treasure of a cottage.
A real treasure of a cottage. Perfect in every way. Owners very welcoming. Even though it is secluded and peaceful, there are loads of things to do in the area. A good pub to eat at, (The Lamb), not far away. About a mile away is a small village shop with a very limited stock, the larger supermarkets are further afield, so best to buy your food en route.
The sheep outside in the field are a bonus and over the few days we stayed here, we got to know their individual characters!
We highly recommend Cart Lodge - it's lovely!
