    Baunei is a town located in the heart of Ogliastra, whose mountains are carved by enormous canyons that can be explored on foot. From the Golgo Plateau—where we recommend dining spots to enjoy local dishes—you can reach the stunning coves of the Gulf of Orosei: Cala Mariolu, Goloritzé, Sisine, and Biriola. A hiking trail, the Selvaggio Blu—considered one of the most challenging in Europe—connects these stops, rewarding adventurers for their efforts. Other popular activities include rock climbing, snorkeling, kayaking, and ATV riding; and for those seeking a more leisurely experience, there’s a tour of the coves that includes visits to the Grotta del Bue Marino and the Grotta del Fico.

The apartment was perfect for our needs. It was very clean and comfortable. The location was a close walk to town yet quiet and peaceful. Our host was very accommodating for our late arrival and also offered to make reservations at a local restaurant for us. A truly nice place to stay!

Property was wonderful. Ensure that all the rooms will be unlocked if you are expecting 3 bedrooms and 2 baths with less guests. Parking can be challenging with extremely narrow streets. We ended up parking in free public parking and did the walk in. Great quiet location and great small town feel.
