"The unit itself was great but the time of year and weather conditions made the unit cold for old people. It has a heat pump but it just couldn’t heat the unit. An additional small electric heat helped when we were at the table eating or playing cards. The hosts were excellent and certainly exceeded our requests for additional utensils and supplies. "We had an amazing stay! The cabin was very clean and everything worked as it should. Everything was well stocked. We had a designated parking area, and the area and cabin were safe. We had a great stay at this cozy little place and got to enjoy the outdoors and make a little fire at night. "I emailed the hotel before my stay and they responded right away. I wanted to be sure our pet was not a surprise. They responded a couple of times, once to let me know about the details around pets, and secondly about parking. The hotel has no parking of gheir own. They use city parking, for a fee. That was a surprise, as it was not well advertised on Hotel.com site. I didn't go back to checked to see if it was there, but it is $18+ per night ($18 to city, or $25 through the hotel if you want multiple reentry) So it would be a consideration if my decision came down between two comparable properties. The reception staff was very efficient, polite and friendly. The hostess/server at the breakfast was very helpful, polite and friendly. They went out of their way to make us fell welcome with a pet. The room was generally clean, but could have been a little better. This was a nice hotel, all considered I'd stay there again."

Sandman Signature Dartmouth Hotel & Suites

"Our family of four thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay at the Sandman. The hotel was new and very clean, the rooms were great and had everything we needed. The water slide was a huge hit with the boys…Albeit the pool was pretty cold. Denny’s and Bar One also came in very handy after long days of travel and exploring Halifax via the Ferry. We’ll certainly be back our next time through Dartmouth/Halifax area. Thank you"

"Property was very clan and well maintained. The staff werre courteous, capable and helpful. The restaurant was very good and the staff there were excellent. I was not impressed by the beds and pillows though I have encountered far worse elewhere. The rooms were well furnished and pleasant, but the split bath with shower and flush on one side of the room and the sink, mirror and dressing area on the other presents problems as both areas are cramped and would create privacy problems fo those travelling with a friend rather than as a couple. I also was disappointed that there was no Ironing Board etc. in the room and that the clothes rack was cramped due to the presence of a table with a refrigerator on it being placed in its centre.The view is breathtaking and the breakfasts are superb. The property was full each night we were there and it is very quiet. The sorrounding grounds are very well kept and pleasant and the proximity to Digby, the Annapolis Valley and major highways is a great asset. All in al I would certtainly stay there again and it is a pleasant and comfortable property with very reasonable property with resonble prices."
