A truly unique floating home community
Staying in a floating home is an adventure all by itself. Kids love the novelty, and adults love the peaceful setting and unbeatable water views.
Lake Pend Oreille at your doorstep
Idaho’s largest and deepest lake is perfect for boating, paddling, swimming, fishing, and relaxing by the shore. It’s a natural playground for families who love being outside.
Small-town charm
Bayview is friendly, welcoming, and wonderfully laid-back. It’s easy to slow down here and enjoy the little things.
Near Farragut State Park
Just minutes away, Farragut State Park offers hiking, biking, wildlife viewing, and tons of room for outdoor exploring.
A hidden gem for family trips
Bayview feels more peaceful and less crowded than many busy vacation spots, which makes it perfect for families looking for a more special and relaxed getaway. If you’ve been searching for a place that feels fun, fresh, and different, this is it.
Getting Around:
Navigating to your lakeside retreat is straightforward. Here's a quick guide to help you plan your journey:
Parking: A parking lot is provided directly at the float home, ensuring ease and convenience upon your arrival.
Air Travel: Spokane International Airport (GEG) is the nearest major airport, about a 90-minute drive from Bayview. We recommend renting a car for the most flexibility in exploring the beautiful surroundings.

Wonderful

This home was perfect for our trip to Silverwood theme park! Very convenient and easy to get to. The host was excellent with communication before and during the trip. I have been wanting to stay in a float home for some time and this was a great experience. I would definitely recommend!
Our main trip was to visit silverwood and this location couldn’t have been better. I hate to even leave a good review for fear of more people staying here and discovering this gem. The marina is breathtaking and peaceful, the water sparkles in the morning with your coffee made in the well equipped kitchen. Keurig and regular pot available to use.
The fish were aplenty though bring your own gear as the stuff available was something made for a season of Survivor, My boys would have slept holding their polls if I let them.
Silverwood is a mere 10 minute drive and a huge supermarket is 7 minutes away that is open 24 hours. We decided to forgo cooking and walked to the local restaurant each night for dinner and a drink. Brandi was an absolute angel of a hostess and kept us coming back.
Only downfall was the house was listed with 2 twin beds in the master and they aren’t there so we just had the 2 big beds. Kids slept on the floor and made it work but if you have littles needing a bed, they aren’t there.
We are already planning our next trip and can’t wait to return to this special spot!
The float home is a bit dated & needs a deep cleaning overall. The grill was great, but we had to clean it ourselves because it was filthy. The regular cleaning person did a great job with all the normal stuff, but the closet where the games are kept is scary & the laundry room has too much clutter in it.
The kayak was full of water so it was unusable…never found a paddle for it either. A peddle boat was promised, but we were never told where to find it if there was one, because it wasn’t moored at the float home. The fully equipped kitchen only had 4 forks & wasn’t really equipped for preparing nice meals.
The deck is big & great for enjoying the fabulous view. Great for morning coffee & evening cocktails. The beds are comfortable & enough bedding supplied. The marina is a fun place to stay & being on the water is unique.
The options for restaurants is limited…only 3 options for restaurants serving dinner…one is closed, one is rumored to be closed at the end of 2023 & the last one isn’t very good.
All this said, we enjoyed our time at the float home.
The house was extremely clean, comfy and cozy a great experience. If I have any complaints it would be the dinner plates be a little larger lol. Would highly recommend it. 5 out of 5 stars!!!

Awesome
Had a great stay! We enjoyed every minute of it. I would stay here again.
We spent 4 wonderful days on this fantastic float house. Everything you need is there and the location is awesome. The listing was exactly what we had hoped for, clean, owner was very helpful on arrival... the place was perfect. The Captain's Wheel Resturant which is about 2 minute walk had best Fish and Chips. We fished, kayaked, paddle boated and cooked and ate great food at our "home" for four days. The float house is a perfect place for a family vacation. Thanks we will be back.
We enjoyed our stay. The house was well apportioned with linens, towels and general living supplies. Parking was not as we were told and we had to pay for it. We were told one space came with rent but no parking pass was available and the marina said none was purchased. The marina was easy to work with, but this made checking in a little stressful. Any questions we asked the manager were answered quickly. Would stay again

Mixed review
The home is in a beautiful location and we enjoyed the kayak and paddle boat that were available to us. The kitchen also was well equipped. The place wasn't as clean as I would have liked (ex. a canister with whisks on the kitchen counter had cobwebs all over it). The lack of window coverings (especially in the upstairs bedroom) meant that we were wakened by the sun at a very early hour. Unfortunately, the property kept money out of our deposit and didn't respond to my request for details as to why this occurred. I have never had this happen before and always clean up before we leave, so this came as quite a surprise. I also didn't appreciate the lack of communication on this issue. Given this, I can't say I would recommend this place to others.
Two bedrooms and bathrooms were perfect for our group. We could have used a better selection of cooking utensils since we hosted a bbq for visiting family. The only suggestion I have for improvements is to add some lighting in the living room. Literally no lights at all in that room for visiting or even reading a book once night time hits !
We’ve visited bayview for over 40 years. After recently retiring we decided to book a floathouse for at least a week. We booked mid-July for hot weather and were not disappointed. This floathome is ideally located beyond almost all others and right on the edge of sail boat docks. We spent everyday on the side dock that gets shade from 2-3 pm everyday, putting feet in water, kayaking, floating, or just soaking up the amazing views. Inside is quite roomy and nicely decorated but dated, and the upstairs bedroom is extremely large but that window must be covered as waking up at 4 am everyday due to light bursting in is unacceptable especially while on vacation. We loved eating at all the local restaurants and walked to all of them. This is a unique and fabulous experience and we are already planning doing it again next year. Thanks so much for making our week truly a amazing adventure.
It got really cold the weekend we stayed. We contacted the property manager and asked where to turn the heat on because the fireplace didn't work. We never received an answer. If we knew we were going to freeze all night we would have just left that day.
From start to finish everything when great. There were no surprises when we arrived. Everything listed from picture of the floating home to instructions were right on target and made it so easy. My wife and I both more than enjoyed our stay at the floating home and Bayview. The home was very clean, large and had everything need for a great stay. Thank the owner and thank you Vrbo for making renting this home easy.
A great getaway/downtime for our family of 6. Beautiful location and view. Loved the size of the house, but needs some TLC. Specifically, smoke detectors, lightbulbs (including nightlights/porchlights), oven racks, A/C leaks, washer and dryer needed multiple cycles per load (wouldn't drain or dry well), remote batteries, and general cleanliness. Thank you.
We had a great time. We were there when it was extremely hot out so we didn’t get to fish as much as we would of liked but the air conditioning was great. We enjoyed being there!
I would recommend this Float Home based on location view, very spacious and well decorated, stocked with all the essential hone & kitchen, two comfortable bed rooms, and large outside seating deck.

LAST TRY at leaving a review. Dishwasher stinks, is reviling, doesn't work! Washer doesn't work. Code to get wrong - nightmare with 4 kids trying to get in all night - no response from owners...show
We came with our ski boat and fishing poles for a family summer vacation. The boat tied up right next to the house and the kids dropped their poles into the water on all sides of the house. They caught many different types of fish! The house is very cozy - we had some bad weather so hung out inside and watched movies and played games. Cute place to hang with the family. Everything was well stocked. Our only issue was the dishwasher was broken.
