Connemara Coast Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"A beautiful location and an ideal base to explore the west coast. Rooms were spacious, clean & beds very comfortable. Staff all very helpful & friendly and the food was great too. We visited during a heatwave (which is rare) but it was uncomfortably hot in the room, even with fans - air conditioning would be ideal and if the weather patterns continue, this might be a worthwhile investment? The only other thing we missed was a fridge in the room - being able to chill drinks would’ve been even better. However, overall a great hotel and we very much enjoyed our stay! We’d definitely consider a return in the future."

"The stay was comfortable and the gardens lovely. The drinks and barstaff great, reception great and friendly with advice on sight seeing. The room was comfortable and clean. There was a broken window pane and the furnishings were dated. Bed comfortable. The food was disappointing. I had a seafood chowder which was pretty good and the fish tasted fresh. the main was a steak that looked pale and was not cooked with lots of fat and gristle, the vegetables were overcooked. The desert tasted OK but was again a victim of being left under a heat lamp for too long. My colleague had salmon and vegetables. Again overcooked and vegetables soggy and drained of colour, salmon was dry. Breakfast was again a victim of being overcooked and scorched under a heat lamp. Food overall disappointing for a hotel known for its fine cuisine. Location is wonderful."

"While the host was very responsive, the heat was out and was not repaired during our stay. Elisa brought 2 space heaters over but one only worked for a short time & then quit. There was hot water and the kitchen was stocked. The dishwasher was not working but the laundry and dryer did work. The renovations to the part of the house looked amateurish. I couldn’t tell whether it was mold or dirt or ill - finished paint on parts of the floor & ceiling. It was a short drive to Galway. Elisa did refund us one nights stay & did offer a full refund if we left after the first night. However, as it was a Saturday most every place in Galway was booked so we stayed the 2nd night. I would not stay there again."

"Das Cottage ist wunderschön. Es ist traumhaft direkt am Wasser gelegen und mit allem ausgestattet, was man benötigt und sich wünscht. Es ist praktisch und liebevoll eingerichtet. Von überall hat mein einen traumhaften Blick auf die Twelve Bens und das Wasser, selbst vom Schlafzimmer aus. Das Frühstück kann man im Wintergarten genießen. Die Küche ist perfekt ausgestattet, es sind mehr als genug Handtücher vorhanden. Check in und Kommunikation waren unkompliziert und sehr nett. Wir hatten eine wunderbare Zeit dort und kommen bald wieder. Vielen Dank dafür!"
