"This was my third time staying at this hotel. I love staying at this hotel and I’ve stayed at 2 other hotels in the area previously. Check in is easy. Centrally located. Staff are helpful. The room and bathroom are large. My only negative would be the shower does not have enough shelves for personal shower toiletries. (Bring a suction cup shower caddy)."

"We have stayed at many properties in Solvang and were happy with King Frederick Inn. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, especially Karen. The location was central, literally, the center of Solvang. Everything you could need is within walking distance. The main reasons for the four star instead of the five star (8 verses 10 based on Expedia double valuing the points), is the proximity of room doors. Our door was virtually hindered to the room next to ours and neighbors returned at 11:00 p.m. and proceeded to enter and exit the room and slam the door numerous times, causing us to be startled from our sleep. The walls are also thin so be prepared to hear things you may not wish to hear. There isn't much based on the idea of breakfast - one danish per guest, yogurt, granola bars, coffee. But not much else. We are not big breakfast people, so it did in a pinch. If you want breakfast, go down the street to Paula's - you will be happy you did. We would return, perhaps, but are cautious about the close proximity of the doors and their slamming."

"This is definitely one of those properties that's hay day was a long time ago. BUT, the current owners and staff have put a a lot of care and love into the place. The rooms are clean, the pool and hot tub were very well maintained. The evening fire pits were a real great place to hang out. A true oasis in an area filled with overpriced, high end hotels that really offer nothing more than you can get from Pea Soup Andersen's. I would definitely stay here again. Wonderful area as well."

"Honestly, not a good value for the cost they are charging. Our first (yes first!) room was so dirty that there was a chicken bone behind the bathroom door and the room even had moldy food in the air conditioning unit- which also not so shockingly wasn't cooling the room. Our second room was better, but still dirty; hair in bathroom, trash around the bed and a crucifix necklace hanging on the back of the door. The towels are like sandpaper and the hotels got a distinct smell to it. Their saving grace honestly is the location and the fabulous employee they've got in Maria!"

"Self check in means you have to upload a new credit card & pay $50 in deposit as well as upload an ID - per room - on site in their parking lot with terrible wifi. So youll end up driving to get wifi to complete this terrible experience. Per room - they cant just apply your information to all rooms you prepaid for. An hour 1/2 later youll get in your room. "
