"This is a wonderful property in a countryside setting with an equally nice restaurant. I had enjoyable stays there before. However, service and reception quality seem to have deteriorated over the years. On our last stay, we were not even able to use the room we had booked: The reception was closed when we arrived within the stated opening hours, I could find no keys, and no phone number could be reached. Aggressive behavior around my later request for a refund. So I will not be back."

"Conveniently located at walking distance from the STR (tram) station Mohnweg, about 25 min ride from the Deutz/Messe Cologne train station. The room was not luxurious, but clean and comfortable. Shower water heats up right away. You need adapters if you come from the US. There is no outlet near the desk. My room was facing the main street, which is very busy. I would ask for a back-facing room unless traffic lulls you to sleep (the window seals the noise out). Breakfast was excellent. Nice...

"The initial contact with reception was negative as the receptionist seemed to have an issue which he kept repeating to me in loud German. After I mentioned Expedia he ruffled through the files, found the paperwork and started speaking in English in a more normal tone. We filled out the paperwork which he provided. He later helped by arranging a taxi to take us into the old town to see the cathedral, buildings and the Rhine. Parking, room, lift and bathroom were all fine and clean. Breakfast and...
